Holy Mother Huo Ling was among the Intercepting Sect disciples originally fated to die during the Investiture of the Gods calamity. Her death would have allowed Guangchengzi to claim the Golden Radiance Crown and bring it to Biyou Palace, using the relic to intensify hostility between the Elucidation and Intercepting Sects.
