Chapters 51–75 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 51When Others Send Down One, We Will Have at Least Three From Now On

After the Intercepting Sect adopted new rules requiring disciples to work in groups, Lin Yuan recruited two companions and traveled to Jiameng Pass. He arrived to find the Four Demon Generals battling West Qi, and the story left off as Mo Lihong taunted his opponents.

  • Zhao Gongming warned outer disciples against fighting alone by recounting how he had nearly been killed despite being a Daluo Golden Immortal.
  • Qin Wan required the Ten Heavenly Lords to travel in groups of three, or all ten together when facing Elucidation Sect core disciples, while other disciples also began teaming up.
  • Lin Yuan refused Zhao Gongming as a companion and asked Jin Ling for two suitable disciples to accompany him to Jiameng Pass.
  • Lin Yuan traveled with the two disciples and reached Jiameng Pass, where the Four Demon Generals were fighting West Qi's Qi Practitioners.
  • The system identified Mo Liqing, Mo Lihong, Mo Lihai, and Mo Lishou as predetermined mortal-calamity targets, and Mo Lihong taunted West Qi after his black umbrella swallowed an enemy treasure.

Ch. 52The Four Demon Generals? Why Another Four-in-a-Row Draw!

Lin Yuan watched the Four Demon Generals repel West Qi at Jiameng Pass and urged them to fight together while investigating why West Qi was watching Mo Lihong’s Mixed Element Umbrella. The next morning, he confirmed that three hidden auras moved when Mo Lihong began to open the umbrella.

  • Mo Lihong used the Mixed Element Umbrella to absorb a West Qi cultivator’s flying sword while the other Demon Generals fought with their own treasures and abilities.
  • Lin Yuan met the Four Demon Generals and encouraged them to follow the Intercepting Sect’s new rules and stay within support range during battles.
  • Mo Liqing reported that West Qi seemed to be targeting the Mixed Element Umbrella, so Lin Yuan advised Mo Lihong to open it cautiously in the next fight.
  • Lin Yuan used his Mystic Thunder Eyes to track strange auras lingering around the battlefield and found that they focused on Mo Lihong’s umbrella.
  • When West Qi challenged Jiameng Pass again, three hidden auras moved as Mo Lihong began to open the umbrella, confirming Lin Yuan’s suspicion.

Ch. 53When the Mixed Element Umbrella Opens, the Opponent's Magical Treasures Are All Gone

Lin Yuan helped Mo Lishou foil West Qi’s attempt to cripple the Mixed Element Umbrella, turning the ambush into a counterattack that captured several enemy treasures. After the attackers retreated, Lin Yuan warned the Four Demon Generals that West Qi would target whoever became isolated and proposed they coordinate their positions and abilities in future battles.

  • Lin Yuan warned Mo Lishou not to gather treasures, and Mo Lishou folded the Mixed Element Umbrella to evade West Qi’s three attacks aimed at damaging it.
  • Mo Lihou’s Flower-Fox Marten struck the concealed grey awl, exposing the hidden weapon and foiling West Qi’s plan.
  • Lin Yuan directed Mo Liqing and Mo Lihai to counter the attackers, while Mo Lishou reopened the umbrella and pulled several enemy treasures inside.
  • West Qi’s attackers retreated, and Mo Lishou checked the umbrella with Lin Yuan before sharing the captured silver chain with Mo Lishou.
  • Lin Yuan warned the Four Demon Generals that West Qi would target whoever was isolated and proposed fixed positions so they could support one another; Mo Liqing stepped forward to begin practicing the formation.

Ch. 54Do You Want to Pick Them Off One by One? Ask the Four of Them First

Lin Yuan helped the Four Demon Generals stay together during West Qi’s attempts to isolate them, and they repelled the attacks without pursuing. The death-calamity warnings remained, and Lin Yuan sensed West Qi preparing a stronger attack aimed at one of the four.

  • Lin Yuan kept Mo Lihai from accepting a one-on-one challenge, and the Four Demon Generals stood together until the young Daoist retreated.
  • A West Qi cultivator lured the Flower-Fox Marten away, but Mo Lihong, Mo Lihai, and Lin Yuan helped bring it safely back to Mo Lishou.
  • When West Qi tried to push Mo Liqing away from the group, he fought within the range of Mo Lihai’s pipa while the others supported him, and the four stayed together through the battle.
  • West Qi changed tactics three times before retreating, and the Four Demon Generals agreed that fighting together worked well.
  • That night, Lin Yuan sensed stronger Dharmic power gathering in West Qi and told Mo Lihai he was waiting to learn which of the four their next attack would target.

Ch. 55Mo Lihai's death tribulation? A pipa melody played in reverse to send you on your way

Lin Yuan predicted that Mo Lihai would be targeted and helped him turn the West Qi attackers' sound-suppression plan against them, breaking his death tribulation and gaining Celestial Sound Soul-Shaking. Afterward, Lin Yuan sensed that Mo Lihong's danger was growing and prepared to investigate a tempting magic treasure expected the next day.

  • Lin Yuan deduced that West Qi would target Mo Lihai by suppressing the Jasper Pipa's sound, and he and Mo Lihai planned to lure an attacker close.
  • A Silence-Suppressing Pearl blocked battlefield sounds as a Black-Robed Taoist attacked Mo Lihai, but Mo Lihai snapped his pipa strings and shook the attacker's Primordial Spirit at close range.
  • Mo Liqing and Mo Lishou helped drive back the Black-Robed Taoist, who escaped with a talisman, and Lin Yuan's system announced that Mo Lihai's death trajectory had been changed.
  • Lin Yuan gained Celestial Sound Soul-Shaking and accidentally made a nearby Jin Ling Lineage senior brother's Primordial Spirit shake by flicking the Qingxuan Sword.
  • Lin Yuan sensed that Mo Lihong's death tribulation had grown stronger and asked whether he would accept a very tempting magic treasure offered the next day.
  • Mo Lihong said he would accept it, and Lin Yuan asked to borrow Mo Lishou's Flower-Fox Marten before he did.

Ch. 56Want to take the Hunyuan Umbrella? I'll put on a show for you this time too

Lin Yuan and the Four Demon Generals baited West Qi into using a Treasure-Locking Rope against Mo Lihong, then turned the trap around and captured both the rope and its Purple Gold Bead. Mo Lihong survived his destined tribulation, granting Lin Yuan Treasure-Mastering Telepathy, while West Qi began planning a simultaneous attack on all four generals.

  • Lin Yuan arranged for Flower-Fox Marten to hide inside Mo Lihong's Mixed Element Umbrella so it could ambush whoever maintained a treasure-locking artifact.
  • West Qi baited Mo Lihong with a Purple Gold Bead and used a Treasure-Locking Rope to immobilize the Mixed Element Umbrella, while its Gray-Robe Immortal advanced to seize it.
  • At Lin Yuan's signal, Mo Lihong swallowed the Purple Gold Bead and released Flower-Fox Marten, which wounded the Gray-Robe Immortal as the other generals attacked.
  • Mo Lihong regained control of the umbrella and pulled in the Treasure-Locking Rope and Purple Gold Bead, forcing the Gray-Robe Immortal and West Qi's forces to retreat.
  • Lin Yuan gained Treasure-Mastering Telepathy after Mo Lihong's destined death trajectory was severed, and he demonstrated smoother control of his Qingxuan Sword and Thick Earth Sword.
  • In the West Qi camp, their leaders abandoned testing the generals one by one and planned to target Mo Liqing and Mo Lishou simultaneously.

Ch. 57All Four Are Present—How Will You Break Them One by One?

Lin Yuan helped the Four Demon Generals withstand West Qi’s coordinated ambushes and severed Mo Lishou’s and Mo Liqing’s death trajectories. With all four generals alive and fighting together, the West Qi forces retreated, and Lin Yuan gained Cooperative Combat Spiritual Perception and Four Symbols Sword Intent.

  • West Qi attacked Mo Liqing directly and baited Mo Lishou’s Flower-Fox Marten into a silver net, but Lin Yuan warned Mo Lishou not to break formation.
  • Mo Lihong and Mo Lihai disrupted the attackers’ follow-up, while Lin Yuan used Celestial Sound Soul-Shaking to deflect a scimitar that would have struck Mo Liqing.
  • The Four Demon Generals worked together to free the Flower-Fox Marten, severing Mo Lishou’s death trajectory and granting Lin Yuan Cooperative Combat Spiritual Perception.
  • Lin Yuan coordinated the four generals’ counterattack, joined the battle, and helped Mo Liqing drive back the Golden Immortal attacker.
  • Mo Liqing’s death trajectory was severed, granting Lin Yuan Four Symbols Sword Intent, and the West Qi forces retreated as the death auras around all four generals vanished.

Ch. 58Four Demon Generals, None Missing

After helping the Four Demon Generals survive repeated attacks at Jiameng Pass, Lin Yuan saw them commit to fighting together and confirmed that all four had escaped their destined deaths. He left to handle new military intelligence, while the tribulation aura vanished and Primordial Secret Realm Monitoring Stones began trembling on Blue Star.

  • Mo Lihong, Mo Lihai, and Mo Lishou thanked Lin Yuan for warning them not to fight separately, and Mo Liqing vowed the four would face future battles together.
  • The Four Demon Generals divided the magical treasures Mo Lihong had collected, while Lin Yuan tested how his new abilities improved his swords and teamwork awareness.
  • Mo Liqing promised that the Four Demon Generals would come to Lin Yuan's aid if he ever sent word.
  • After seven days without another major attack, the system confirmed that Mo Liqing, Mo Lihong, Mo Lihai, and Mo Lishou had all escaped their original death trajectories.
  • Wen Zhong sent new military intelligence, so Lin Yuan left Jiameng Pass with two fellow disciples as the tribulation aura dispersed and Primordial Secret Realm Monitoring Stones began trembling on Blue Star.

Ch. 59Primordial History Shifts—23.8%!

The Primordial Secret Realm’s Historical Deviation Rate rose to 23.8% as more key events deviated, and observers increasingly suspected Lin Yuan was behind the changes. At the Shang army’s camp, Lin Yuan learned Wen Zhong planned to cover the retreat at Dragon-Severing Ridge and asked whether he had to go there.

  • The Monitoring Stone reported that the Historical Deviation Rate had climbed from 17.3% to 23.8% and listed further deviations, including Jiameng Pass.
  • Chen Qingshan and the other teachers suspected Lin Yuan was causing the changes after learning that several Interception Sect figures might still be alive.
  • Chen Yue overheard Elucidation Sect disciples say Lin Yuan had reached Taiyi Golden Immortal and that the Four Demon Generals were now acting together, then reflected on his choice of the Elucidation Sect.
  • Lin Yuan reached Wen Zhong’s camp and learned that the Great Shang army was retreating because West Qi had grown stronger.
  • Wen Zhong said he would stay at Dragon-Severing Ridge to cover the retreat, and Lin Yuan asked whether he had to go there.

Ch. 60Wen Zhong, Senior Brother, You Can't Go to Dragon-Severing Ridge

Lin Yuan warned Wen Zhong that Dragon-Severing Ridge felt dangerous, but Wen Zhong chose to lead the rearguard there, and Lin Yuan went with him. After Lin Yuan discovered the earth veins had been tampered with, the pair ordered a withdrawal, but a dormant fire force awakened beneath the ridge and the system warned that Wen Zhong’s death calamity was imminent.

  • Lin Yuan urged Wen Zhong to choose another rearguard position, but Wen Zhong insisted Dragon-Severing Ridge was the best place to hold back West Qi’s army.
  • Lin Yuan decided to accompany Wen Zhong, and Wen Zhong agreed on the condition that Lin Yuan follow his military orders.
  • The Shang army withdrew in stages, and Wen Zhong led the rearguard to Dragon-Severing Ridge as West Qi’s pursuers followed at a distance.
  • Lin Yuan examined the terrain and discovered that someone had altered the underground earth veins to draw Earthfire toward the ridge.
  • Wen Zhong ordered the rearguard to withdraw, but a dormant surge of fire qi awakened beneath them and shook Dragon-Severing Ridge.
  • The system identified Wen Zhong as a high-value target of a predetermined death calamity and warned that its designated death node was rapidly approaching.

Ch. 61The System Flagged Wen Zhong as a High-Risk Target for the First Time

Lin Yuan and Wen Zhong’s army were trapped in a formation built into Dragon-Severing Ridge, and Lin Yuan discovered that the earthfire trap was designed to target Wen Zhong. As eight rune-covered bronze pillars rose around the ridge, the formation’s true killing move began.

  • Earthfire erupted beneath Dragon-Severing Ridge and a wall of flame sealed the Shang Army’s retreat, while the system warned Lin Yuan that Wen Zhong’s death trajectory was converging.
  • Wen Zhong ordered the soldiers to form up, and Lin Yuan warned him that the enemy might be waiting for him to reveal his abilities; the mountains then began closing in on the army.
  • Lin Yuan used his Mystic Thunder Eyes to trace the fire veins and discovered that the formation centered on Wen Zhong rather than the soldiers.
  • Wen Zhong tried to escape upward, but a descending fire net repelled him and trapped him at the center of the ridge.
  • Lin Yuan set out to find the Formation Eye as eight enormous crimson bronze pillars rose from the ground.

Ch. 62Dragon-Severing Ridge Was Not a Road, but a Killing Trap

Lin Yuan and Wen Zhong discovered that Dragon-Severing Ridge was a killing formation powered by underground fire veins, and Wen Zhong held off its Divine Fire Pillars while Lin Yuan searched for the Formation Eye. Lin Yuan traced the formation’s power to an inconspicuous mountainside, but a powerful Golden Immortal appeared to stop him.

  • Eight Divine Fire Pillars activated, forcing Lin Yuan, Wen Zhong, and the Shang Army to retreat as the flames threatened to consume protective mana.
  • Lin Yuan identified Dragon-Severing Ridge as a grand formation, and he and Wen Zhong agreed that Wen Zhong would hold off its attacks while Lin Yuan searched for the Formation Eye.
  • Wen Zhong fought the pillars’ flames as Lin Yuan examined their power sources and warned him not to be herded toward the formation’s center.
  • Lin Yuan sent a message asking the Four Demon Generals to come to Dragon-Severing Ridge and directed flying cultivators to move the ordinary soldiers northwest.
  • Lin Yuan traced the fire veins to a mountainside and found a shared mana-flow point, but a Golden Immortal attacked and warned him away from the Formation Eye.

Ch. 63Heaven-Reaching Divine Fire Pillar

Lin Yuan discovered and damaged a crucial earth-vein transfer node while fighting the Immortal guarding it, and the Four Demon Generals arrived to help disrupt the formation. The damaged node weakened one of the eight Divine Fire Pillars, giving Wen Zhong an opening as Lin Yuan prepared to destroy it further.

  • Lin Yuan fought the formation guard and exposed a golden Formation Disk beneath the mountainside, identifying it as a crucial earth-vein transfer node.
  • Lin Yuan drew the guard away from the Formation Disk and sensed that Mo Liqing, Mo Lihai, Mo Lihong, and Mo Lishou were approaching.
  • Wen Zhong fought the eight Divine Fire Pillars as the formation shifted its lethal central area beneath him, while the Four Demon Generals disrupted the pillars and their supporting formation objects.
  • Lin Yuan asked Mo Lihong to use the Mixed Element Umbrella against the guard, then struck the Formation Disk and cracked it.
  • The third Divine Fire Pillar dimmed after the damage cut off one stream of Earthfire, and Lin Yuan prepared to dismantle the Formation Disk.

Ch. 64I Saved So Many People, Not So You Could Keep Throwing Your Lives Away

Lin Yuan and the Four Demon Generals destroyed the first Formation Disk at Dragon-Severing Ridge, weakening the Heaven-Reaching Divine Fire Pillars enough for the Shang Army to begin retreating. Lin Yuan discovered a concealed main earth vein that likely hid the true Formation Eye, while a mysterious figure appeared in Scarlet Cloud and challenged him to find it.

  • Lin Yuan coordinated with Wen Zhong and the Four Demon Generals to crack and destroy the golden Formation Disk, throwing the earth veins and divine fire formation into chaos.
  • Wen Zhong broke the weakened restrictions around a Divine Fire Pillar and ordered the Shang Army to retreat through the thinned northwest barrier.
  • Several enemy Qi Practitioners arrived, and the Four Demon Generals held them back while Lin Yuan stayed with Wen Zhong to investigate the still-active killing trap.
  • Lin Yuan traced the redirected fire veins and found that their main source was concealed behind an invisible barrier.
  • A figure appeared in Scarlet Cloud, praised Lin Yuan's formation skills, and told him to find the true Formation Eye himself.

Ch. 65Where Is the Formation Eye? I Can See It Now

Lin Yuan searched Dragon-Severing Ridge for the formation’s hidden eye and discovered that three locks concealed its true core. After finding the third lock within Scarlet Cloud, he faced Yun Zhongzi and vowed to take Wen Zhong away.

  • Lin Yuan saw through a false fire vein and traveled north until he found the first formation lock hidden in an ordinary stone wall.
  • Lin Yuan broke the first lock with the Thick Earth Sword while Mo Lihai’s pipa music delayed the formation-guarding Daoist’s attack, briefly disrupting the Divine Fire Pillars.
  • Lin Yuan traced the replenishing earthfire and determined that three locks concealed the true Formation Eye, locating the second in the southeastern mountain belly.
  • Lin Yuan realized the third lock was hidden in Scarlet Cloud, prompting Yun Zhongzi to emerge and confirm the formation’s arrangement.
  • Lin Yuan told Yun Zhongzi that he intended to take Wen Zhong with him, then prepared to dismantle the formation as Yun Zhongzi defended it.

Ch. 66Yun Zhongzi, Set Your Formation, and I'll Break It

Lin Yuan fought Yun Zhongzi at Dragon-Severing Ridge and used the links between the Formation Locks to expose the third one. After Wen Zhong helped shatter the second lock with Divine Thunder, Lin Yuan prepared to attack the third lock beneath Yun Zhongzi.

  • Yun Zhongzi revealed the moving third Formation Lock among the scarlet clouds, and Lin Yuan realized he could trace it through the earth veins.
  • Lin Yuan attacked the second Formation Lock, forcing his way through Yun Zhongzi's divine flames and breaking several of its protective fire patterns.
  • Lin Yuan used Celestial Sound Soul-Shaking to create an opening, then had Wen Zhong strike the lock with Divine Thunder.
  • Lin Yuan's swords shattered the second Formation Lock, forcing the third lock to reveal itself beneath Yun Zhongzi at the center of Scarlet Cloud.
  • Lin Yuan told Yun Zhongzi that the real dismantling of the formation was about to begin.

Ch. 67Wen Zhong Was Supposed to Die Here, but Not Today

Lin Yuan and Wen Zhong destroyed Dragon-Severing Ridge’s true Formation Eye and escaped the fire formation. Wen Zhong crossed the ridge alive as the system reported that his predetermined death trajectory was collapsing.

  • Lin Yuan sent Mo Liqing and the other Demon Generals to open the northwest exit, then attacked Scarlet Cloud and severed a fire connection to the earth veins.
  • Lin Yuan directed Wen Zhong to strike underground with divine lightning, disrupting the Divine Fire Pillars and revealing the true Formation Eye beneath Wen Zhong’s fire cage.
  • Wen Zhong struck the Formation Eye with his Twin Whips and divine lightning, destroying it and collapsing the fire prison.

Ch. 68Wen Zhong Didn't Die! He Gave Me His Third Eye?

After escaping the Tongtian Divine Fire Formation, Wen Zhong survived Dragon-Severing Ridge, and Lin Yuan inherited the source of his Mystic Thunder Eyes. Lin Yuan reached the Mid-Stage Taiyi Golden Immortal, but a message from Jiepai Pass reported that Holy Mother Huo Ling had clashed with Guangchengzi.

  • Golden Spirit Holy Mother learned that Wen Zhong and Lin Yuan had survived Dragon-Severing Ridge, and Tongtian noted that many Interception Sect disciples had escaped their fated calamities.
  • The Primordial Secret Realm Monitoring Stone recorded Dragon-Severing Ridge’s shift and raised the Historical Deviation Rate to 31.1%, prompting observers to wonder what would happen to the roster if its expected victims survived.
  • After Wen Zhong recovered, Lin Yuan hurried toward Jiepai Pass to prevent Holy Mother Huo Ling’s fall and the conflict that would follow.
  • Lin Yuan reached Jiepai Pass and saw Guangchengzi raise the Heaven-Flipping Seal against Holy Mother Huo Ling, so he rushed in and warned her not to meet it head-on.

Ch. 70Holy Mother Huo Ling's Death Would Be Followed by the Execution of Immortals Formation

Lin Yuan arrived at Jiepai Pass in time to warn Holy Mother Huo Ling away from Guangchengzi’s Heaven-Flipping Seal, then watched her battle West Qi’s immortals with the Golden Radiance Crown and Fire Dragon Soldiers. • Holy Mother Huo Ling used the Golden Radiance Crown and Fire Dragon Soldiers to repel the Elucidation Sect disciples at Jiepai Pass.
  • Guangchengzi ignored Lin Yuan's taunts and watched for a chance to catch Holy Mother Huo Ling while she was unable to change direction.
  • Lin Yuan spotted Guangchengzi's concealed attack on Huo Ling, and she jumped clear before the Heaven-Flipping Seal destroyed her giant fire dragon.
  • Guangchengzi focused his attention on Lin Yuan after his strike failed, while Lin Yuan learned that Duobao was hurrying to the pass.
  • Guangchengzi sent the Heaven-Flipping Seal toward Lin Yuan for his third strike.

Ch. 72The Heaven-Flipping Seal Arrives

Guangchengzi attacked Lin Yuan and Holy Mother Huo Ling with the Heaven-Flipping Seal, but Lin Yuan discovered how to break its tracking lock and helped Huo Ling escape. Guangchengzi then abandoned the seal and charged directly at Lin Yuan.

  • Lin Yuan evaded the concealed Heaven-Flipping Seal, but it caught his shoulder and left him with a bloody wound.
  • Guangchengzi sent the giant seal after Holy Mother Huo Ling, and Lin Yuan spotted a brief delay in its tracking lock.
  • Lin Yuan directed Huo Ling through rapid turns, allowing her to escape the seal's suppression range before it crashed into the earth.
