Uchiha Madara looked innocent. "But you're the one who ate the Devil Fruit."

"If you hadn't pressured me, would I have eaten that thing so readily?"

"I guess not. Then you should've just left it alone!"

"But I already ate it! I swallowed it! It's gone!"

"Then there's nothing we can do. If it bothers you that much, you could have Jobu eat a Devil Fruit too. Then everyone would be equal."

As he spoke, Uchiha Madara grinned wickedly. Somehow, he had found another Devil Fruit.

Izuna Uchiha pulled out a Devil Fruit of his own. The two brothers exchanged strange smiles.

Uchiha Jobu activated his Three-Tomoe Sharingan and dodged the brothers' combined attacks. But he could not fend off both of them forever, and it was only a matter of time before they caught him. He said helplessly, "I can't eat a Devil Fruit. If I do, the power of this world will assimilate the chakra inside me. Then I won't even have a chance of awakening the Rinnegan."

Hearing that, Uchiha Madara could only shrug and give up. Jobu was right. Because the rules of this world were different, only Uchiha Jobu had any chance of awakening the Rinnegan here.
