Ning Rongrong was quite generous. Rather than have everyone eat at the ordinary tables on the first floor, she led them upstairs to the premium section on the second floor. She had not chosen a private room because the price was simply too high. Her little savings were only dwindling, never growing, so she had to spend carefully.
The six of them sat around one table, yet the atmosphere was far from lively. Fortunately, Ma Hongjun kept cracking jokes, preventing things from becoming too awkward. Several other tables on the second floor were already occupied. Just then, a group of eight entered from outside. Like Shrek Academy, they consisted of a teacher leading several students. They were presumably heading out to hunt soul beasts and obtain Soul Rings as well. It was Azure Radiance Advanced Soul Master Academy from the original story.
"Hey, Boss, look at that girl. She's pretty good-looking. She should be from Azure Radiance Advanced Soul Master Academy, right?" Before the food even arrived, Ma Hongjun's evil fire had already overwhelmed his reason. His pitifully small eyes stared like those of a hungry wolf at the only girl among the eight. To him, Ning Rongrong and Xiao Wu were too immature. Only elegant, mature, and alluring older women could stir his interest.
Then came the earthshaking words from Dai Mubai's mouth: "Those who dare not cause trouble are mediocrities!" Tang San actually strongly agreed with that single sentence.
Before long, the conflict erupted like a volcano. Dai Mubai leaped up and kicked an Azure Radiance Academy student in the thigh, then whipped his palm across the student's face like a gust of wind. Though the student was tall and broad, his strength was far inferior to Dai Mubai's. After taking that slap, he staggered back more than ten steps as though struck by a heavy blow.
Using the momentum from his strike, Dai Mubai straightened up and casually stretched, as if everything just now had nothing to do with him. Even Tang San could not help feeling that Dai Mubai looked like he deserved a beating.
The restaurant instantly exploded into chaos. Cries of alarm and angry accusations rose one after another, while diners at several nearby tables scattered like startled birds. The waiter's face went pale as he tremblingly stepped forward and said in a shaking voice, "Sir, if you do not intend to dine, please leave Peace Hotel immediately. Peace Hotel upholds the principle of peace. Fighting is strictly forbidden inside. Otherwise, Peace Hotel will not welcome you!"
A disdainful sneer curled across Dai Mubai's lips, and cold light flashed in his evil twin pupils like lightning tearing through the night sky. "Heh! A nobody like you dares point fingers at me? Get the hell out of my sight!" Before his words had faded, he suddenly grabbed the waiter by the collar and hurled him away as if tossing a chick. The waiter flew like a kite with its string cut, crashing straight into a nearby table. With a bang, the table shattered into pieces, and the waiter spat blood before collapsing unconscious on the floor.
Not long afterward, a squad of Peace Guards charged up from downstairs like a gale. At their head was a Soul Elder, broad and muscular beneath heavy armor, like a moving fortress. Behind him followed nine Great Soul Masters, also clad in thick armor and gripping tubular weapons in their hands. They were firearms meticulously developed by Gu Hengzhi. The guns glimmered with an enigmatic light, as though containing endless power.
"You dare assault an employee of our hotel! Drop your weapons and surrender at once! We will hand you over to Spirit Hall for punishment!" The Peace Guard captain glared furiously, his booming voice making the entire second floor tremble faintly.
"And what if I refuse to surrender obediently? What can you do about it? You bunch of turtles who only know how to hide inside your armor!" Dai Mubai rolled his shoulders, amusement flickering in his eyes. Fearlessly, he released his martial soul, his body shining with a dazzling layer of light like a brilliant star. Seeing this, the other five from Shrek Academy refused to be outdone and released their martial souls in succession. For a moment, multicolored lights intertwined like a spectacular fireworks display.
Bang! A thunderous blast erupted, like a bomb exploding within the restaurant. Shrek Academy's table was instantly reduced to splinters, wood chips scattering everywhere. The firearm in the Peace Guard captain's hand had fired. The deafening report seemed capable of tearing apart the entire space. Flames roared from the barrel like a fire dragon, its power so terrifying that everyone on the second floor stood frozen in shock like wooden statues. Even Tang San's eyelids twitched as he secretly marveled, What kind of weapon is this? Its power is so immense—it is far stronger than my Zhuge Repeating Crossbow!
"Give up resisting! This is my final warning! Now!" The Peace Guard captain's voice exploded beside everyone's ears like thunder. Just as Tang San prepared to take out the Zhuge Repeating Crossbow from Twenty-Four Bridges Bright Moon Night, a lazy voice suddenly drifted out like a ghost.
"Peace Hotel? What a fine Peace Hotel. If I make a move, what can you do about it?" A towering figure, massive as a mountain, abruptly appeared before everyone. It was none other than Zhao Wuji, his voice exploding through the air like thunder.
"If you lack the strength, why call yourselves Peace Hotel? Looks to me like you're asking for a beating!" Zhao Wuji's words shot straight at the Peace Guard captain like sharp arrows.
With that, he moved like an enraged lion and copied Dai Mubai, swinging a slap toward the Peace Guard captain. The blow carried boundless force, as if it could tear open the void itself. Though the captain wore heavy armor and seemed as indestructible as an iron giant, Zhao Wuji's terrifying strike still sent him flying more than ten meters like a fallen leaf swept up by a gale.
Tables and chairs shattered along his path, scattering everywhere like flowers ravaged by a storm. A large section of the captain's armor caved in as if it had been smashed by a heavy hammer, producing a crisp metallic sound.
Zhao Wuji shot the Peace Guards a vicious glare, his eyes burning like flames. That gaze was filled with contempt and authority, as if it could reduce everything to ashes. Under his piercing stare, the Peace Guards felt as though they had fallen into an icy abyss, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.
"What an unruly demon king—Zhao Wuji. You certainly look impressive!" At that moment, a group of eight slowly descended from a private room on the third floor. Their steps were steady and graceful, as though they were strolling through the clouds. They were Gu Hengzhi, Tie Hong, and the others from Righteous Heaven Academy.
The moment the incident began, Gu Hengzhi's group had noticed everything with the sharpness of hunting leopards. They had quietly watched like hunters concealed in the shadows, waiting for the best moment to intervene.
Once Zhao Wuji made his move, Tie Hong, as Righteous Heaven Academy's vice principal, naturally had to step forward to support Gu Hengzhi. Like a lion defending his territory, he strode resolutely toward Zhao Wuji.
Dai Mubai's eyes were as sharp as a hawk's, immediately locking onto Gu Hengzhi and Zhu Zhuqing among the crowd. He dashed to Zhao Wuji's side like lightning, lowered his voice, and whispered a few words. His voice was as faint as a mosquito's buzz, yet it seemed to carry endless meaning.
Tang San and Xiao Wu behind him also noticed the scene shortly afterward. However, they stood quietly where they were like steady mountains, without making the slightest move.
"So that's how it is! You must be a teacher from Righteous Heaven Academy, the academy that just moved to Soto City!" Zhao Wuji looked at Tie Hong with icy, contemptuous eyes. "Earlier, one of your academy's students severely injured one of Shrek Academy's students. Give me an explanation right now!" As he spoke, his finger pointed straight at Gu Hengzhi like a sharp sword, as though he wished to pierce him through.
Tie Hong turned back to glance at Gu Hengzhi. "An explanation? Hmph. Injuries are unavoidable in sparring matches! Besides, your academy's student was three years older than ours and seven ranks higher in soul power. That could be called bullying the weak. If you insist on an explanation, then let's see whether my fists are hard enough!"
