Neither this nor that would work, and the air in the living room instantly froze. There were only three rooms, and this was already considered spacious. Ordinary families only had these conditions—how much could anyone expect from a guest room?

"Then go get the loofah. It's in the fridge!" Qin Fen said without turning around. There were six people, so he had to make at least four dishes and a soup. That was no easy task.
"Okay!" Sun Yujie walked to the refrigerator, opened it, bent down, and searched inside. This was what happened when she never cooked—she even dawdled over grabbing vegetables.
"Qin Fen, I'll chop the vegetables. Take the fish out of the fridge and steam it. I bought it at noon. Didn't expect you all to come back so soon, but it worked out!" Dad rolled up his sleeves. Better not to get involved and just do more work.
Fine. Qin Fen put down the knife and headed for the fridge. Father and son brushed past each other. "Can you handle it?" Qin Fen was doubtful. Mom always did the cooking, after all. Dad was out of practice.
"As a man, what do you mean, can I handle it? I have to step up!" Dad grinned. Qin Fen nodded, then suddenly bumped into something that seemed to shove forward.
When he turned around, Sun Yujie was staring at him with an embarrassed face. Damn, that was quite a textbook position.
