The three men chatted happily, while Jed and Director Liu were the ones suffering. The two of them were caught between a rock and a hard place. Director Liu was innocent too—damn it, it hadn't been his doing back then. He had been one of the people who got screwed over as well.
"Since Professor Qin has agreed, I won't keep you any longer. I've been far too busy these past few days, and I have another meeting this afternoon. Let Little Liu accompany you!" The middle-aged leader made the final decision. Director Liu immediately pulled a face like he had swallowed something bitter. Whenever he faced Qin Fen, there was always a fire in his chest, yet he could never vent it.
Since the leader had spoken, he could only go along. He could already imagine that once they returned to the expo center, Big Chef would make a triumphant return, while he himself would have played the villain for nothing. The looks of contempt from everyone around him would be enough to kill him.
Jed breathed a sigh of relief. Though he felt stifled inside, at least Qin Fen was going back. As the saying went, it was not that retribution did not come, only that the time had not yet arrived. He intended to rise by stepping on Big Chef. Without a little patience, how could he succeed?
"Are you competing in Robot Wars too?" A timid child's voice rang out. Little Frank blinked at Qin Fen, as though he wanted to get to know this chef all over again. In a child's mind, anyone who could make an awesome robot was seriously cool.
"Yeah! I'm a competitor too!" Qin Fen shrugged.
"That's great! How about I take you to the Battle Box? It's really amazing there.
