Background / History

The Xiao Family was originally one of Wutan City's three major lineages. Its annual profit was roughly 100,000 gold coins, and it possessed only two Storage Rings before Xiao Yan and Xiao Zhan's treasure expedition. 6

Xiao Yan's emergence transformed the family's prospects. After he became a one-star Dou Practitioner at ten, the elders waived the usual adulthood requirement and granted him early access to the Battle Qi Pavilion; Xiao Zhan publicly declared that his son possessed the potential to become a Dou Emperor. 4

Xiao Zhan led Xiao Yan and family fighters to a hidden cave near Qingshan Town. The expedition recovered immense wealth, medicinal herbs, the Seven-Colored Poison Classic, an Advanced Profound Rank Flying Dou Technique, and Mad Lion Roar. The haul was valued at no less than ten million gold coins—approximately a century of the Xiao Family's accumulated wealth. 5 6 7

The family's conflict with the Jialie Family escalated from market competition to assassination attempts and open fighting. Following Jia Lie Bi's death, internal Jialie conflict, and mercenary retaliation, the Jialie Family sold its marketplaces and fled Wutan City. The Xiao Family acquired most of its former businesses, becoming the city's dominant lineage. 29
