The emergence of an external enemy they could scarcely withstand placed immense pressure on the various powers of China's Divine Land. In a rare show of unity, they joined forces to keep the invaders beyond their borders.
The reasoning behind the various powers' compromises was simple.
First, unless the Great Qin Empire, the Han Kingdom, and Western Chu decided to start a civil war, the Huan Kingdom alone among China's powers had no formidable enemy eyeing its territory like a hungry tiger. Its national strength, military strength, and manpower were therefore at their most concentrated. Moreover, during this National War, those three powers would need to see whether China's Otherworlders agreed before starting a civil war. After all, China's Otherworlders had contributed considerably to their campaigns against foreign enemies!
Second, the Huan Kingdom currently had no major wars to fight. Having it hold the Marshall Islands would continuously consume its military strength, manpower, and national resources while also sparing the other powers from attacks by the increasingly formidable Undying Forces. It accomplished several things in one stroke.
Third, the assistance the various powers provided was not without rewards. They only needed to send unruly troops, or even troops guilty of crimes. The Huan Kingdom would have to support these so-called "reinforcements" and pay compensation for those killed in battle, while the credit and spoils would belong to their original powers. There were also indirect gains in reputation, moral standing, wealth, and more. The Huan Kingdom simply chose not to haggle over them. After all, its foremost priority was ascending to the Great Huan Dynasty. If it wanted help, it could not be stingy about paying the price!
