Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Attribute and Merit framework | 7, 8 | Early Otherworlders had no conventional character levels; advancement relied on Merit, Rank, Prestige, Command, Martial Strength, Intelligence, and Politics. |
| Combat-rating tiers | 213 | Advanced Otherworlders generally had combat ratings above 80; Apex Otherworlders had reached the 90-point limit. |
| Postnatal Realm | 268 | The system replaced personal attributes with nine Postnatal levels. Essence Origin Pills strengthened the body, while Essence Qi Pills improved cultivation. |

| Loose Immortal Realm | 594, 598 | The Legendary Era opened the Loose Immortal Realm to Otherworlders; Wei Wushuang was the first documented breakthrough. |
| Late Loose Immortal leadership | 1523 | After decades of development, leading Otherworlders such as Di Wushuang, Demon Queen Ying Ying, Xuanyuan Menghen, and Song Datian had reached the Loose Immortal Realm’s upper stages. |
Background
Eight Wandering Immortals summoned the first Otherworlders from beyond the heavens during the Great Qin Empire’s decline. Native observers believed these arrivals were meant to resist the invading tribes and restore the state, though many doubted the frail newcomers could fulfill that role 7.
The apparent game was later revealed to be a route into a genuine alternate world. Roughly thirty years earlier, hidden Earth World factions discovered a meteorite that granted access to another dimension; their first explorers entered and never returned. After further research, these factions combined technology and supernatural systems to create Game Dragon Rings and launch Genesis Online: Forging the Sacred Court, presenting mass dimensional transfer as a virtual-reality game 1020.
The relationship between the two worlds steadily became more literal. Otherworlders could potentially transfer trusted natives to their home world for ten thousand Diamond Coins, and later updates enabled Innate Realm users to enter with their true bodies 51 268. By the Legendary Era, cultivation, treasures, and equipment could function in Earth World as well 594.
Characteristics
Game Dragon Rings
Game Dragon Rings distinguish Otherworlders from native inhabitants. They originally enabled their entry into Forging the Sacred Court and later served as positioning and teleportation devices, with three coordinates available in both reality and the Sacred Court world 268.
- Early Otherworlders generally acted through avatars or incarnations rather than their physical bodies 269 1003.
- Rings contributed to their unusual resurrection ability by locating space and drawing feedback from heaven and earth 1003.
- At higher stages, the rings could transform into the Heaven-Mending Divine Ability, the source of exceptional cultivation acceleration sought by Xiao Ying 1523.
- Otherworlders who had their rings removed lost their defining advantage; Xiao Ying’s own vanished ring had already transformed into the Heaven-Mending Divine Ability 1581.
Resurrection and Death
Early natives regarded Otherworlders as possessing “undying souls,” making them difficult to intimidate through ordinary death 20.
- After the midterm system update, each Otherworlder was limited to three deaths; every death removed one-third of their cultivation, skills, and other strength 268.
- Death could still be final under exceptional circumstances. Several Innate Realm Otherworlders killed by undead magic became vegetative in Earth World after their souls scattered 951.
- Otherworlders who reach Xiao Ying’s level no longer revive normally after death 1581.
Rapid Advancement and Spoils
Otherworlders could gain cultivation methods, pills, equipment, and other rewards by killing powerful natives or historical figures. The possible gains were considered valuable enough that many accepted repeated deaths during major campaigns 298 307.
- Their innate cultivation aptitude was generally inferior to that of natives 1523.
- Their rings and reward mechanisms nevertheless allowed their strength to grow far more quickly than that of most native inhabitants 1523 1654.
- The Pangu Secret Realm’s reward-bearing inhabitants resemble the miraculous mechanisms associated with Otherworlders, suggesting a possible shared origin 1614.
Factions and Organization
Otherworlders commonly form Lineages around shared identities and objectives, giving newcomers access to information, residences, resources, and protection 8.
- Apex factions — Major groups can mobilize enormous memberships. The Princess Residence assembled over ten thousand mid- and high-level Otherworlders in the imperial capital alone, while claiming that far greater numbers could be called nationally 235.
- Otherworlder Alliance — Led by the ten Apex factions and the Soul of Huaxia. At one point it claimed over one hundred million members, including three hundred thousand Innate Realm experts and five million Postnatal Ninth Tier experts 766.
- Otherworlder Soldiers — Organized Otherworlder armies are distinct from individual cultivators. Their discipline and combat capability have been compared to Human-grade Azure Rank special troops 504 505.
- International factions — Otherworlders organize according to regional civilizations as well as ordinary factions. Their forces can include undead, God Warriors, Hero Civilization troops, superpowered soldiers, Sacred Garment fighters, and other culturally distinct systems 876 970.
Relationships
- Native inhabitants — Relations range from cooperation and deep personal loyalty to distrust. Some natives regard Otherworlders as human beings with the same emotions and mortality, while others consider them deviations from fate and sources of chaos 19 798.
- Eight Wandering Immortals — Said to have summoned the first Otherworlders to defend Great Qin and resist the foreign tribes 7.
- Otherworlder Alliance — A major umbrella organization that coordinates powerful factions and later becomes a target of Great Huan’s forced integration campaign 766 1523.
- Great Huan Celestial Dynasty — Xiao Ying sought to make every Otherworlder submit to Great Huan or surrender their Game Dragon Rings, using simultaneous pressure in both worlds against resistance 1523 1524.
- Jian Shang / Xiao Ying — An Otherworlder who rose from an isolated entrant to Huan Emperor. His discovery of the Heaven-Mending Divine Ability made control of the wider Otherworlder population a central imperial objective 1522 1523.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Descent and Early Exploration
The Otherworlders’ arrival begins the “Year One of Creation.” With almost no system guidance, they must independently discover the world’s rules, organize into Lineages, and decide whether natives are merely NPCs or genuine people 7 8.
First Emperor’s Southern Inspection Tour
The Southern Inspection Tour becomes a major sorting event for the population. Many Otherworlder factions seek to assassinate Qin Shi Huang for his cultivation, destiny, and rewards, while Jian Shang’s opposing mission forces him into conflict with his own kind 259 267.
Their willingness to kill elite Qin soldiers and commanders for cultivation rewards drives repeated mass battles. Individual factions also pressure members into joining death squads despite the danger 298 307.
System Update and Physical Crossing
The midterm update abolishes the original attribute system, limits resurrection, introduces Postnatal and Innate cultivation, and permits Innate Otherworlders to cross physically into the Sacred Court world 268. This turns the “game” into an increasingly dangerous parallel reality rather than a protected virtual experience 269.
Rise of a Global Force
During the Legendary Era, Otherworlder factions become major military and political powers rather than scattered players. Their varied civilizations, rapid communication, specialized troops, and immense populations make them a force that native armies can no longer dismiss 856 970.
Great Huan’s War of the Otherworlders
After returning from ascension, Xiao Ying moves to absorb the Otherworlder population into Great Huan. He offers ranks and offices to the Otherworlder Alliance but orders all Otherworlders across Mercury World to submit or surrender their rings, with soul-binding pagodas and military force prepared for those who resist 1523.
Trivia
- No documented Otherworlder had produced children with either natives or other Otherworlders during the early years of Forging the Sacred Court 499.
- Otherworlder factions can transmit intelligence unusually quickly, making them valuable sources of information across regions 856.
- The term “Otherworlder” does not inherently imply moral alignment; both natives and Otherworlders are described as possessing the same emotions, desires, virtues, and evils 19 54.
