Young Master sat beside the figurehead with his head tilted... It was a giant Embroidered Crab whose claws had even been shaped into musical notes.
Stare long enough at the riot of colors on the back of that claw-waving crab, and the Asking Sword family crest would appear.
It was artistic, certainly, but apart from the members of Asking Sword, Young Wanderer Under Heaven, most Undead had little appreciation for art that loud.
Especially the crab's expression... Such brazen arrogance was a rare sight indeed.
When Young Master named Asking Sword's flagship the Rampaging General Warship, he would probably have lost the vote—even with more hot-blooded teenage fantasists in his family than any other Undead family—if he hadn't insisted that animal companions should be allowed to vote too. Rumor had it the margin was only a few thousand votes.
Without the Embroidered Crabs voting as a bloc for Young Master, he would have lost for certain.
Most Asking Sword members resented that bitterly, but there was nothing they could do... Young Master had always been good at little tricks, and he had brought up the vote right in front of all those animal companions!
No one wanted to hurt their friends' feelings over something so trivial. The companions might not have cared, but once the question was raised in public, who could say no?
Even members without animal companions couldn't bring themselves to object. There were plenty of lonely people who played games, but how many of them would join a family?
He turned to his secretary. "What are the Doomsday people doing? Did Old Dog give them a job too?
"I can't figure out what sort of job only they could do."
"Are you sure you want to analyze Old Dog's thinking?" his secretary asked with a helpless smile.
