An adventuring party without a Transcendent member would be wiped out by three hags, even if the rest of the party were fairly high-level.
In countless adventure tales, including Paths of Fate large and small, encounters with a Hag Coven ended either in flight or with several companions dead.
And the cottages in the dimensional space marked with Malagard's winged emblem were clearly home to Night Hags.
A single Night Hag was worth almost a thousand ordinary hags. Night Hags were creatures of the Underworld, on an entirely different plane of existence from common hags.
