Liszt suddenly spun around and rushed to Hill's side. "Wait! Didn't you give the elves a whole bunch of strange bombs?"

"What does that matter? It's not like they'll go off right next to us."

"Could you please stop talking, sir?" Liszt was so flustered he even forgot the butler's etiquette he always insisted on. "Damn it! I need to pack supplies into storage equipment of every level!

"As long as we don't end up in a magicless universe, at least one set should work!"

Hill couldn't help patting his lower lip. He gave an awkward smile and said quietly, "Don't worry. It won't be a Magicless World.

"Universes exist in different ways. If the other side won't accept someone, it'll send the unlucky soul back... Usually, though, the reverse is also possible."

"I don't need you to demonstrate that from experience, sir." Liszt was beyond furious. "I'm worried about the Demiplane! My core is still in there!

"What if... Bah!"

He vanished from Hill's sight, but Hill understood what he had been about to say. A Demiplane might not work in a low-magic world. Even opening its entrance required a little energy.

In a high-magic world, that energy expenditure was barely noticeable. In a low-magic world, it might take a huge pile of Energy Crystals just to open it once.

Low-magic worlds had a great need for energy, so spellcasting generally depended on crystals. Even an Archmage like Hill, who normally needed no materials to cast spells, would have to use Energy Crystals for higher-level magic. Otherwise, he would have to expend his own mana and mental energy.

Mages in low-magic worlds didn't live as long as those in high-magic worlds, partly because they lacked the energy to strengthen their bodies.
