Hill's origins alone were enough for them to imagine countless stories.

But if the powerful mage they had just been discussing suddenly appeared before them, anyone's heart would probably leap right out of their mouth!

Hill could actually hear the few bards wailing in despair and relief.

But as long as they were not insulting him behind his back, Hill did not care if people gossiped about him. As long as he did not sense any malice, it was fine.

Hill glanced at the lavishly furnished bookstore before him, swept his hand, and bought one copy of everything except the antique books.

The power of gold coins was naturally effective. The owner, who had been drinking tea and reading the newspaper, promptly jumped up. After taking the coins, he personally went to the warehouse to sort out the books.

The coins Hill had paid included an exorbitant service fee.

After sitting in the owner's window-side seat and reading for three hours, Hill was respectfully invited by the owner and clerks to inspect the several thousand books laid out in the cleared space of the shop.

Hill swept his gaze over them in satisfaction, collected the books scattered across the floor into his ring, and turned to leave.

By the time he finished reading all these books, the attention surrounding him in Silver Moon City should have died down.
