The Appeal of Eco Golems

Hill read the newspaper in his hands. In the Nether Mountains, a family of four Blue Dragons was clearing out the Orc tribes.

The Silver Moon Alliance had no sympathy for the Orcs, but it was watching the four Blue Dragons with considerable unease.

Silver Moon City was not very far from them.

For days, the papers had debated whether the four dragons would appear outside Silver Moon City. They also marveled at how quickly the High Lady had brought the two Primordial Dragons next door under her control. Otherwise, even if Silver Moon City remained safe, the other towns would have suffered.

Waterdeep had been in chaos lately.

Its people had learned for the first time just how many dragons lived in their city.

Waterdeep's various factions had worked together as never before, casting powerful sleep spells nonstop until the dragons settled down.

Silver Moon City might be allied with Waterdeep, but the mess over there still gave its residents a deep sense of superiority. The papers ran one report after another on the kinds of dragons that had appeared.

Waterdeep did have ways to protect itself, though, especially against adult dragons.

Dragonrage could strike at any time. Any dragon worth its scales would have found a way to guard against it.

This time, however, Dragonrage had struck without warning and with unprecedented force. That was why so many dragons had been unlucky enough to reveal their true forms.

Hill felt rather sorry for the witnesses mentioned in the papers, especially the poor suitor who had watched the beautiful young woman next door—the one he was courting—suddenly crush two floors of a building right before his eyes.

Once the dragons regained even a little clarity, though, they quickly found places to hide from Dragonrage and vanished completely.
