Hill stood on the terrace, his expression rather strange.
It was not because of Umberlee, who was foolish enough to try to drown a sea god with seawater. It was because every bolt of Thunder was heading for the highest peak of the Sword Mountains.
Telly's house seemed to be acting as a lightning rod!
And although the gold paint contained a waterproofing agent, its base was still metal. Thinking of all those countless gold coins and that pointed roof, Hill drew a slow, quiet breath.
"Roar!" An angry bellow came from the inn below. Realizing that all the Thunder over the swamp had been drawn to his home, Telly returned to his true form. Under the stunned eyes of the onlookers, he burst through the door and flew straight up into the clouds.
"Roar... huh?" From the change in Telly's voice, Hill could tell that at least one dragon egg had appeared on the mountaintop.
Hill slowly turned his head and pretended he knew nothing. He fixed his eyes on Umberlee as she emerged with the rising sea.
Surrounded by Sharkheads in the water, the Nearshore Goddess wore a long purple jellyfish cloak. She was tall, and her hair was living seaweed.
Her skin was blue-green, the hands she held aloft ended in claws, and her eyes glowed white.
A swirling storm gradually rose around her. Clearly, she meant to summon a typhoon strong enough to flood the entire town.
"Die, bitch!" Her witchlike rasp rang across the whole territory.
"You call yourself a sea god?" Aglaia appeared above the Temple of the Sea God.
She wore a blue gradient gown. Her long, water-blue hair floated gently in the wind, and her blue eyes shimmered like the sea.
Her fair, beautiful face seemed to sting the Nearshore Goddess deeply.
