Hill did not understand. Why come to Aglaia over a matter between mages?
Whenever Neverwinter faced trouble too great for its temples and Good Alignment mages to solve, the Arcane Brotherhood in Luskan was almost certainly behind it.
But the Brotherhood generally used a mage's methods. The source had to be found; divine healing alone could rarely solve the problem.
Gods of Good Alignment could usually cure poison, drive out evil, and heal wounds. Diseases and curses were another matter. Those depended on their divine domains.
Aglaia had only proclaimed her dominion over the sea here. In theory, no one should have come to her to cure a disease.
"Esteemed Archmage Hill.
Someone passing through here brought a bottle of Holy Water from Goddess Aglaia's temple back to Neverwinter," Bane said respectfully. "The mages tested it. It proved remarkably effective against that disease and others like it.
Some of the mages who stayed behind advised my father to seek your help. With enough of that Holy Water, we could buy sufficient time to treat everyone if the disease strikes again."
Hill hesitated. "Do you need Holy Water, or the purest water possible?"
There could not be much difference between the Holy Water made by Tyr and Aglaia. Tyr's power to cleanse evil ought to be stronger than hers.
He possessed Greater Divine Power!
If Luskan wanted to cause trouble in Neverwinter, it would never choose something Holy Water could easily resolve. Neverwinter was where the Temple of Tyr held its greatest influence on the Northern Continent.
The only difference was that Aglaia's Holy Water was guaranteed to be pure. And since all Holy Water had a short shelf life, Neverwinter could not be looking to stockpile it in large quantities.
What they wanted was the material Aglaia used to make
