Lynn stared in surprise at the flower-crowned Fairy on Hill's head. "A Flower Fairy? Where did you find her? Even in the High Forest of old, you rarely saw one! My mother had only ever heard of them."
Vera waved her little wand indignantly. "Where are your manners, Lord Long-Ears? Vera is right in front of you. Who are you talking to?"
Lynn quickly got hold of himself and apologized to Vera with utter sincerity. "I'm so sorry, beautiful and graceful Flower Fairy. I was just too surprised!
"I never thought I'd see a Flower Fairy with my own eyes. You really are as lovely and charming as the stories say.
"No one has seen a Flower Fairy in over a thousand years.
"According to Elven legend, the Flower Fairies withdrew from the world after their leader disappeared. Even at the Court of Delight, they refused to have anything to do with anyone.
"So can you forgive me for making such a fuss, lovely Miss Vera?"
Vera nodded, trying to remain composed. "Very well! I forgive you for being so ignorant."
