Hill, standing beside Martha, soon caught Lynn's attention.

He strode over without hesitation. "Hill, is that you?"

Lynn knew Martha would speak so respectfully only to her master.

Hill dropped his illusion and smiled at Lynn. "Were you looking for me?"

"Yes. Pat gave me a letter from home. Something terrible has happened on Evermeet."

Hill looked at the harried Lynn in confusion. "Don't tell me the queen finally lost patience and went to war with the nobles?"

She had put up with them for centuries. Surely she could endure them a little longer?

At the very least, she ought to wait until the Telashir Elves had won their fight against the demons before considering joining them.

Toril's evil forces were never the only reason elves had been driven overseas. More important were the Half-Orcs who descended from the Spine of the World every so often, and the demons that followed them.

"Close enough." Lynn waved the letter in his hand. "Queen Amrala Moonflower of Evermeet has suddenly disappeared. Admiral Gal is convinced the nobles harmed her. She's taken the queen's youngest son, Prince Lamruil, aboard the Royal Fleet and is coming to Aglaia City to seek an audience with Corellon."

Hill stared for a moment. "How is that possible? I remember that by the time the queen was seven hundred, she could already rival the demigods of the Elven Pantheon."

Lynn sighed. "Everyone knows she must have left of her own accord. The queen gave up joining the Elven Pantheon because she wanted to wait for her missing children to come home.

"She even gave up the chance to become a god to remain on Evermeet. If she's made this decision now, it can't simply be because Corellon abandoned the island."
