Hill rummaged through the storage space in his pendant again. He needed to find something that was not too valuable.

This trip had taught him one important lesson: bringing gold, silver, and jewels was not enough. He also needed ordinary supplies he could use to keep up appearances.

Mithril seemed to be the lowest-grade material in his pendant. That was a problem. Fortunately, he could still dig up some dirt.

Calling Astral Plane pirates Evil Alignment hardly did them justice. Somewhere in the universe, there were always entire races that lived by robbery. These were born demons, powerful and numerous, who made their living plundering magic ships.

A mage traveling alone could look as formidable as he liked. Those robbers would still think nothing of him.

Even gods might be overwhelmed if they were not powerful enough.

The robbers of those demonic races paid little attention to ordinary gods, though. Waukeen was the exception.

But mages... A mage who could travel through the Starry Sky was never poor.

So Hill intended to pass through Dragonrock Star. He needed to enter the vast reaches of the Astral Plane without drawing attention.

Hill was not afraid of pirates. With direct access to the Elemental Realm, he had nothing to fear from sheer numbers, even if hundreds of ships came at him. What worried him was failing to find the Demiplane while it was still forming.

Once he found it, he would no longer need to be so cautious.

Hill spotted several magic ships traveling together from Toril. They had clearly encountered one another along the way: they kept a considerable distance between ships, but remained in contact.

After watching them for a while, Hill brought out an ordinary-looking little white ship with multiple sails and followed them.
