Hill had no interest in taking prisoners. It was not just because these people deserved what was coming to them; what he really wanted was to silence them.

He had no desire to get openly involved in this mess. It did not matter whether the order had come from the Githyanki pirates' ageless queen or from some powerful figure in Sigil.

After so long on Toril, he knew one thing: given the Elven Pantheon's evident affection for Evermeet's sorrowful queen, they would never have stopped searching for traces of her missing princes and princesses.

Yet they had found nothing.

Several members of the Elven Pantheon held authority over divination, though most could only divine the fates of their own branches of the Elves.

But the princes and princesses of Evermeet were of exceptionally pure blood. Even if the Gods could not find their exact locations, they should have been able to tell whether they were alive and roughly where they were.

At least the children whose deaths had been confirmed could remain beside their fathers in Arborea. She did not need to worry about them.

Evermeet's queen and her family truly were pitiable. If lending a hand had been enough, Hill would have done it.

But he did not think he had the ability to uncover and stop a conspiracy that had spanned centuries.

He had always been a detached person. He would not pay such a steep price for strangers.
