After thinking it over, Hill followed the rules established in Toril and stopped his magic ship at sea, twenty li from the harbor.
As the white sailboat slowly entered the harbor, he glanced at the elven warships moored on either side. The elves on deck looked perfectly at ease, without a hint of urgency. Hill suspected they intended to stay here until next year.
Then it occurred to him: these elves were probably waiting for Bhaal's latest resurrection plan to fail and the death curse across Faerûn to disappear for good.
Otherwise, even if they claimed a new territory, they would still have to worry about the safety of their children.
Hill did not know why Lynn had not agreed to let these elves live in Aglaia City. He remembered giving him permission, and the neighboring Green Forest would not turn them away either.
He spotted Lynn waiting for him at the harbor and gave him a sheepish smile. Something must have happened. Otherwise, Lynn could go ten days or even half a month without coming to see him.
