The noble lords would not work that hard to deal with demon worshippers. That was work that could get them killed, and the temple armies had limited capabilities; they could not deal with several groups of enemies at once.
When Demogorgon's worshippers used other demons' subordinates as cover, their first choice was Six-Finger's subordinates, and their second was devil worshippers.
If that still was not enough, they could sell out the subordinates of other demons or Evil Gods as well. In any case, their masters had no close allies.

Guided by this peculiar spirit, the continent of Faerûn became exceptionally lively. For the first time, people discovered just how many varieties of demon worshippers and devil worshippers there really were.
At the very least, the Justice Knights' rigid records on demons had completely lost their value. Other than unlucky people who had been falsely accused, the rules they used to identify suspects only picked out the lowest ranks among demon worshippers.
Many nobles were delighted by this. Even when their colleagues, major merchants who supplied them, or even beloved courtesans were arrested because of it, nothing could damage their cheerful moods.
Both Hill and Corellon remained silent. Neither had any intention of hunting down that disgusting demon servant.
