Only after calming down did Hill hear Lynn's voice echoing across the city. Through the public address system, he was telling everyone to stay home. The city lord had protected them and would continue to keep them safe, so long as they followed instructions.
Hill guessed Lynn had directed everyone home as soon as the crisis began. He had often led the residents of the old town through encounters with the Hobgoblins from the desert and had plenty of experience handling emergencies.
Hill slowly released the Crystal Flower and leaned weakly against the edge of the pool. He swept the disheveled hair from his shoulders back with his fingers and waited for his mental strength to recover.
Since becoming Legendary, Hill had rarely been in such a sorry state.
It had lasted less than an hour, but sustaining the Mythal for that long had drained him completely.
He had not a drop of mana left, and his Mental Sea had nearly run dry. He could only let it recover on its own; he did not even dare cast a spell as gentle as Tranquil Water.
Fortunately, Hill had had the sense to keep piles of healing and mana potions in storage.
Any high-level spell would stir the surrounding elements. Although Hill was a Sorcerer, his abilities worked more like a Mage's. Apart from spells that enhanced his own condition, he did not even dare use his longsword right now.
One lightning strike might be enough to shatter the Crystal Sphere Wall that had barely held together.
Hill touched his pendant. Thankfully, opening his storage devices required only mental strength, not magic.
Once a little of that strength had returned, he took out a bottle of juice and sat in the pool, drinking it slowly.
*Damn it. I need to expand
