The Mirar River and the bay had both turned into thick sheets of ice. Luskan, which had originally only needed to defend its two flanks, was now surrounded by enemies on all four sides.

Hill examined Luskan's walls once more and finally realized that the section where the Mirar River flowed into Luskan, as well as the river mouth, had two walls of ice and snow standing there, merely covered with a layer of stone on the outside.

Hill had only given them a cursory glance earlier and had actually been fooled.

So they had considered what would happen later as well.

Once spring arrived and Luskan reopened its waterways, those two walls would probably melt into the sea.
