Hill struggled not to laugh. Shar was quite familiar with some of the insults popular among the Undead!

After a few minutes of silence, Selûne asked in an odd tone, "I don't know exactly what that means, but I can tell you're insulting me... But if I have no idea what you're calling me, won't that bother you more?"

Shar sneered. "Does it feel like ten thousand fairies are flying around in your Mental Sea? How could you stand not knowing? Your curiosity won't let you pass up the chance to hear an insult aimed at you."

"So... what does it mean?" Selûne asked without a care.

Shar had wanted Selûne to find out. The Moon Maiden's willingness to ask for the insult herself made it all the sweeter. "It's an Undead expression. It means someone's a bit stupid, with water in her head instead of brains. It suits you perfectly!"

Selûne caught her meaning and replied, "Moonlight on the sea is beautiful!"

Apparently, they weren't talking about the moonlight reflected in the pool. They were talking about Selûne's divine role as a guide to sailors all these years. Fair enough. Given what the two of them truly were, the sea held a lot more water.

But had Selûne just accepted that her head was full of water?

Hill was baffled. Every time the Moon Maiden appeared, she showed him a new side of herself. He was beginning to grasp just how much overwhelming luck could do for someone.

Selûne wasn't that foolish. She was simply used to answering the parts of Shar's remarks that mattered most to her first. If someone else had insulted her intelligence, she might have reacted more strongly. But Shar? Selûne had spent hundreds of thousands of years hearing her twin sister call her stupid.
