After the Undead had completely occupied the Giant's Spine Mountains, they began helping Imbutu build a new royal palace.
The palace's new location was chosen between two rivers in Rollins Forest... One of those great rivers formed the border between Imbutu and Giant Valley.
In theory, the royal palace should never have been built on the border. But for Imbutu, where most prosperous cities stood along the coast, there was no place better suited for avoiding the Spellplague.
After all, being surrounded by forest, with two enormous rivers to the north and south and the Giant's Spine Mountains to the east, provided a natural defense.
Moreover, the palace they had chosen was not luxurious. Once the disaster was over, they could treat it as a forest retreat and renovate a new palace at the old site... That was what Imbutu's queen and crown prince had told the restless, dissatisfied king.
But Imbutu's nobles understood perfectly well that the royal family could never afford to burn money building another palace. Only the king, still living in a dream, believed that their family had money left to burn.
Before the Undead reached Imbutu, the Imbutu Royal House, having confirmed the palace's construction project, received various architectural blueprints sent by the Elves... The Undead had shamelessly entrusted the design work to the Tower of Dawn near Aglaia.
Faced with the Dawn lords in bright yellow and red robes, even the Imbutu king, who had wanted to design a more satisfying palace for himself, quietly chose the simplest of the palace blueprints that the Lathander priests claimed to have painstakingly drawn.
After all, these two master architects would have to remain in Imbutu throughout the palace's construction.
The king of Imbutu did not want Lathander to suddenly take an interest in their tiny nation...
