The Army's Hunting Method
A dense barrage of arrows streaked down from the sky!
In an instant.
The rain of arrows infused with battle aura was about to blanket the Frenzied Giant Bear...
Yet the Frenzied Giant Bear, equally brimming with magic power, showed no weakness. With a single Giant Bear Roar, dozens of arrows were blasted away. Only a few arrows rich in battle aura managed to pass through the shockwave, but they still fell feebly before the Frenzied Giant Bear.
The arrows could not even pierce its fur, much less harm it. Such absurdly tough fur was simply outrageous.
As for forcibly deducting health?
This game did not work that way...
Otherwise, if tens of thousands of players fired arrows together while slaying a Dragon, would it not be pecked to death by mosquitoes?
William had known this would happen. He did not give up. The Elven Archers in the trees continued firing frantically, their battle aura arrows gradually wearing down the Frenzied Giant Bear's defensive magic.
Because it could not use Giant Bear Roar continuously.
William himself also held a white bow and fired at the bear's eyes. Unfortunately, it could not only block, but also had magic protecting its body. The arrows simply could not pierce through.
I could probably slack off now...
But what made things interesting was that this Frenzied Giant Bear seemed to know there were traps nearby and did not charge straight at them.
Instead, it looked at William, who was closest to it, and used Rock Spikes!
Rock spikes covering an area seven or eight meters wide suddenly erupted beneath William's feet. Lotner instantly grabbed his shoulder, leaped into the air, and threw him onto a tree.
Then he turned in midair!
He drew the golden bow from his back and pulled it to its full draw!
An arrow gleaming with silver light suddenly shot out, while he used the force to drift gracefully backward.
The arrow created a swirling current of air in midair, and the thunderous roar was enough to pierce one's eardrums.
With just that one arrow!
A huge spray of blood burst from the Frenzied Giant Bear's forepaw, and it raised its paw to shield its head.
But even with its tough hide, thick flesh, and abundant magic power, its strength had still been greatly weakened after giving birth.
The full-force strike of an Epic-Class NPC had severely injured its left forepaw, making it afraid to move carelessly.
The Frenzied Giant Bear glared furiously at Lotner, hesitating over whether it should charge out and kill these damned pieces of food.
But when it saw Lotner draw another arrow, it immediately began running forward without hesitation!
The instant it completely left the cave entrance, four Elven Hunters holding the corners of a huge net dropped down from above the cave and instantly covered its head.
Just as the other Hunters were about to rush over to help, the Frenzied Giant Bear unleashed its absurd strength again. With a mere shake of its body, the four Hunters were thrown three to five meters away and slammed heavily into the trees. They coughed up blood, feeling as though their kidneys had been shaken apart...
"Use Deadly Shot!!" William shouted. The Elves in the trees all drew their longbows to full draw, pouring battle aura into their hands and bows. It was the simplest and most useful skill!!
Infusing 30% of one's battle aura and charging for roughly 1.5 seconds could increase base attack by 150%.
And that was only an unupgraded skill. Higher-level Deadly Shot could generally double the damage.
Almost in an instant.
More than a hundred deadly arrows, carrying surging battle aura, descended upon the target.
Blooms of blood burst through the air. The Frenzied Giant Bear, which had just torn open the net, immediately suffered a second round of heavy damage.
Yet the Frenzied Giant Bear, covered in arrows, only grew more enraged. Magic power surged throughout its body as it ran forward madly. The ground trembled, and it easily condensed massive Rock Cannonballs, hurling them at the Elves standing in the trees!
Fortunately, Lotner had already informed the other Elves that whenever they saw it gathering magic in a certain direction, they should stop attacking at once, jump down from the trees, and run. Hunting magical beasts was important, but the lives of the personal guards were more important.
So it was obvious.
The Frenzied Giant Bear's attacks were ineffective. Its injuries even grew worse and worse. Just as it was about to keep using Rock Cannonballs, its forepaw suddenly landed in empty air...
Thud!
The running Frenzied Giant Bear fell face-first into a trap filled with spikes. Many parts of its body were pierced through, and blood flowed without end.
The unimaginable pain made it roar continuously, its voice deafening.
The second wave of Hunters covered it with nets again, only for them to be blasted apart by Giant Bear Roar. Several Hunters were thrown away once more. It had to be said that Hunter really was a high-risk profession...
But as long as they completed their missions, Hunters often earned quite a lot. High-level Hunters in particular even possessed the ability to tame magical beasts.
The Frenzied Giant Bear struggled to its feet, ignoring the holes pierced through its body. It wanted to gather rocks beneath its feet and crawl out.
But this was where the difference between a large team and a small Hunter party lay!
Whether it was a player adventuring party or an NPC adventuring party, there were never enough people.
But William had come to start a war...
The instant the Frenzied Giant Bear raised its head, the edge of the trap was already filled with Magic Swordsmen. At almost the same moment, they swung their longswords!
The Battle Aura Blades illuminated the entire trap with a dazzling radiance!
A rumbling tremor traveled up from beneath their feet.
William had never seen anyone block a pit and use Battle Aura Blades like this. It was honestly a little unfair to the bear.
But no matter what.
After the Frenzied Giant Bear endured wave after wave of battle aura, its once-shining brown fur had become tattered, and its entire body was covered in blood and wounds...
It raised despairing eyes and could not help shedding two tears of blood, as though pleading for one last look at its children.
The Elven Magic Swordsmen looked at one another, pity arising in their hearts. Regardless of whether magical beasts were savage or not, a mother's love could never be wrong.
They did not launch a second attack. Instead, they turned to look at their lord...
Protected by Lotner, William walked over and looked into the eyes of the dying Frenzied Giant Bear.
It was only a Mid-Tier Monster, not a High-Tier Monster. Otherwise, this battle would have been far from so simple, even if it had been weakened...
William discovered that one of its eyes had already gone blind, while the other was covered in filthy blood and seemed unable to see clearly.
He sighed and reached out to take a bear cub that had yet to open its eyes from a Ranger's arms. It had not grown any fur yet, but it slept sweetly. Clearly, the battle had not disturbed it at all.
Then he gave Lotner a look, and the two jumped into the trap together.
William brought the cub to its mother's nose and let it smell the little one. "Don't worry. I'll let your offspring live and take good care of them!"
Though the Frenzied Giant Bear could no longer see, it could still smell. It quietly nodded.
Then...
Lotner pierced the Frenzied Giant Bear's head with one thrust of his sword...
Giving it a swift death.
The ending was perfect.
The lord had won!
The Mid-Level Monster Frenzied Giant Bear was dead.
The Iron Ore Vein had been obtained.
They had even gained three bear cubs that had yet to open their eyes...
But for some reason, William felt as though he had truly integrated into this world for the first time, using his soul to feel the emotions of humans and animals.
But after the sadness...
"Why do I feel like laughing?" William held the three cubs in his arms, already unable to stop imagining the future. As for why he had not personally killed that bear to gain some experience and level up...
Because that would not have ended its suffering. It would have deepened it. With his meager strength, whether the longsword in his hand could even pierce its fur was questionable. After all, he had his principles...
