Three Gold Gear Pieces, an A-Class Town-Building Quest
As a Legendary Boss, William had little need for his current equipment.
Low-Class equipment was only transitional, after all.
Ever since acquiring the Mithril Vein, William could indulge in a little extravagance, but he still had no interest in wasting materials on low-level sets.
After all, William knew that as long as he did not court death in the near future, Lotner's protection would make him very hard to kill.
Nor would he level up slowly, so there was no need to fuss over equipment.
Although any equipment could be dismantled and recycled, using ten pounds of mithril to forge gear and recovering one pound would already be a decent result...
But weapons were essential!
Ever since obtaining the Mithril Vein, he had asked Odom and Lotner to join forces and forge three weapons for him.
A longsword, a bow, and a dagger.
Lotner's secondary profession was also Blacksmith.
Odom and Lotner were both Blacksmiths as their secondary profession—one a Grandmaster Blacksmith, the other a Master-Class Blacksmith. Their secondary professions far surpassed their merely mid-level main professions.
After all, crafting professions could not be compared to combat professions.
NPCs were also different from players. They had no such thing as experience points and could only improve their crafting professions through long practice.
During Odom's years on the run, he had mostly chosen to hide in mineral veins.
And his only hobby had been pumping iron...
He had lived for over forty years since birth.
He had probably started pumping iron as a child and kept at it for forty full years. With arms like qilins, how could that not be terrifying?
Two qilin arms plus an Epic Bloodline—how could he not have reached Grandmaster Blacksmith?
(Low-Class, mid-level, High-Class, Master-Class, Grandmaster, Legendary. Crafting profession ranks.)
The reason William had them forge the weapons together was that Lotner would handle the design while Odom handled the attributes. After all, weapons made by Dwarf Blacksmiths were far more practical than beautiful, while William was a very handsome Half-Elf...
A sword had to look cool!
After all, whether it was strong depended on the version, but whether it looked cool lasted a lifetime.

The Dawn Set consisted entirely of Low-Class Golden Equipment.
Dark Gold and even Epic-Class equipment could be forged as well.
However, with only mithril and Iron Essence, Odom could not forge equipment above Gold-Quality. At the Low-Class stage, weapons of this Gold-Quality were already quite good.
The three had no set bonuses, but the longsword and dagger had stackable Rending and Bleeding effects. To ordinary cannon fodder, it was like an Orc child who had made a mistake and was about to receive a father's loving punishment from a wolf-tooth club.
Clearly, Orc brutality probably had a lot to do with domestic violence.
Still, a society under the noble lord system had saved the common people of this era, o( ̄ε ̄*)...
Among melee Warriors in Gods Game, aside from Shield Warriors who specifically wielded shields, most Warriors chose two weapons.
The main weapon was responsible for primary damage output, while the off-hand weapon was used for sneak attacks and parries. Of course, an off-hand weapon was also a fine damage-dealing tool; it all depended on skill.
As for whether a parry succeeded, that depended on one's luck and control...
Many newbie players saw NPCs fighting like that and copied them, only to get themselves killed...
After ten years in the game, William was exceptionally skilled at dual-wielding. He had specially ordered an ultra-short dagger so he could occasionally pretend to be an Assassin. After all, he loved playing Assassin's Creed and had thoroughly grasped its essence of Unrivaled Assassin group combat...
As for a magic staff?
Was that even something he should touch?
The reason he had learned this support-and-control-type Soul Magic was precisely because he did not want to touch an intelligence staff...
"Dump all my saved experience into Holy Spirit Magic and raise it straight to level 5. Put all the other skills at level 3, and that'll leave me with nothing..." William tugged at his hair. This game was a huge experience sink.
Personal level-ups required enormous amounts of experience. Battle aura and magic manuals were also fundamental and required experience, while skills needed even more experience.
If he did not have this territory and could not easily accept all kinds of territory quests, experience points alone would have worked him to death.
If he died once more, he would not just be a gravestone-tier player—he would be an Undead-tier player.
"If not for the quest I got two days ago, I'd really be feeling a little timid." William looked at the A-Class quest in his mission list and could not help salivating. Such a huge pile of experience—how many levels would it raise him?

Expanding into a town was William's small goal for the next half year. As for the mysterious reward, he glanced at his Unlucky Heritage and decided not to hope for such things.
"Although there are only five Blacksmith Rooms, they're all enormous Blacksmith Workshops, and there are a full 133 Blacksmiths inside." William had not made any move to stop the Dwarves from building massive Blacksmith Workshops.
After all, these Dwarves who had been fleeing for countless years had basically lived inside mineral vein caves. Aside from fighting, their only talent was pumping iron...
Still, having so many Dwarf Blacksmiths was something no other place could beg for. In many small towns, even finding a single high-level Blacksmith was little more than a pipe dream.
But how many high-level Blacksmiths did Border Town have?
30+
There was no helping it. Even for Dwarves who loved pumping iron, they had been forced into it. While fleeing, they simply had no other recreational activities...
Besides Lotner, there were another five Master-Class Blacksmiths among the Dwarves!
Besides Odom, there was also Old Hank, the hidden character with an Epic Bloodline, among the Grandmaster Blacksmiths.
As for whether anyone would buy the things these Dwarves forged?
That did not matter.
As lord, William would naturally find sales channels for them. For example, the Blackrock Duchy, which no longer had a source of Iron Ore, would certainly purchase supplies in bulk when faced with strained national circumstances.
But His Highness the Prince no longer intended to sell iron. Instead, he would have finished equipment forged directly and sell it at a markup.
Not only would that give the Blacksmiths within the territory forging experience, it would also earn a considerable income.
Naturally, as the middleman in these transactions, he would take the biggest share. After all, Lord William controlled the Iron Ore Vein, while the Dwarves were essentially working for themselves.
As for buildings such as the Temple of Light, Magic Sanctum, and Dark Hall, they were not purely matters of faction, because all three maintained independence.
As a Neutral Faction, Border Town could choose not to establish any of the three.
Or it could establish all three at once.
It was like spreading Faith—the three sides constantly competed with one another.
If the Temple of Light was established, relatively rare professions such as Temple Knights and Priests would appear.
Establishing other halls would likewise bring certain rare professions.
"It'll just be troublesome to contact those people. Or rather, they might not think much of my town and may not send anyone to settle here..." William scratched his head. The Temple of Light and Dark Hall had to be built. The benefit was nothing else—it was to attract future players.
As for the Magic Sanctum, it absolutely could not be built. Otherwise, Moxis would have a difficult time and might even leave outright.
There was no need to abandon a future Legendary Boss for the sake of a mid-level magic instructor.
"Should I just go all out and build a Mage Tower for Moxis?" William scratched his hair. Mage Towers were expensive, but not truly impossible to build. It was just difficult right now...
Oh right, I changed the game quest difficulty in the earlier chapters to ranks like SS-Plus Class, S-Plus Class, A-Plus Class, B, C, and D. It'll be the same going forward. Using colors to distinguish them was not very good.
