The Gunner's Moment to Shine

The call to counterattack rang out.

Dawn City and the Dwarf Race launched a counterattack together, fighting shoulder to shoulder.

Dark Creatures were not very intelligent, and few low-tier ones had any intelligence at all. That meant morale was no concern for them. Even caught between two attacking forces, they felt no fear.

In short:

Charge, and keep charging.

But Players had no need to worry about morale either. They rushed in and started swinging.

So what if they were throwing their lives away?

Come on, then. Who was afraid of whom?

The Dark Creatures weren't afraid to die, and neither was the Fourth Calamity.

Shield Warrior Players led the charge. As they neared the Dark Army, they raised their shields and surged forward together, smashing the creatures ahead of them apart in an instant.

From above, it looked like two immense tides, one pale and one black, crashing together. The sight was magnificent, enough to set anyone's blood racing.

Warrior Players leaped over the Shield Warriors' heads, unleashing Blade Qi and Sword Qi as they plunged fearlessly into the Dark Army.

Ranger Players and spellcasters didn't even need to aim. They simply rained attacks down.

Would they hit the Players at the front?

What did that have to do with them?

They weren't the ones dying...

After all, damage mattered.

Damage was what counted.

Every war quest had a damage leaderboard, and quest rewards were often determined by damage points. That was the real reason Players threw themselves into battle without a thought for their lives.

As for Assassin Players?

They watched, of course.

Now and then, they darted in with a short sword or dagger, stole a kill, and promptly retreated.

They had no choice.
