The Beginning of Odin's Recruitment Scheme

Odin wanted to become a god through faith, but the path was clearly nowhere near as easy as he had imagined. Of the ten billion Faith points he needed, he had gathered only 43,800.

Granted, that left him just one step away from ten billion.

But it was one hell of a step.

If he forced himself to take it, he would tear his balls off.

All those Faith points had come free of charge from NPCs he had saved from the Dark Army. They had come to believe in their savior of their own accord.

Those Faith points could also be called Divine Nature.

Gather ten billion points of Divine Nature, and they would form a Divine Core.

For every 1% of Divine Nature Odin collected, all his attributes increased by 0.3%. It looked as though the leap from Legendary to Deity would raise all his attributes by at least 30%, and perhaps forming a complete Divine Core would bring about a fundamental transformation.

But that was beyond William's knowledge.

At his strongest in his previous life, he had only reached Legendary. He had never tried to become a god through faith.

Likewise,

every 1% of Divine Nature he lost would cost him 0.3% of all his attributes.

How could faith diminish?

Take the NPCs Odin had saved. Right now, they were grateful to him and saw him as their guide in life, someone they could put their faith in.

But if something unexpected happened and their feelings changed, their faith would change with them.

After all, believers needed temples, and clergy to look after them.

Intelligent Creatures had one particularly troublesome flaw: they were fickle. If a believer's faith changed completely, all the Faith points they had ever contributed and accumulated would be wiped out.
