He unfolded it and glanced over it. Three locations had been circled. One of the timestamps matched the peak from the previous fluctuation record, but the coordinates were offset by roughly two kilometers to the southeast.
"Monitoring devices? What do they do? Where's the intelligence? There aren't any traps, are there?"
"The captain said that ever since an unknown force began assassinating intelligence personnel at various garrisons, the higher-ups have become more cautious. Everyone in our garrison squads has been linked to monitoring devices. As long as an intelligence officer dies, it triggers a red alert. Within one minute, this place will be covered by an Anti-Apparition Charm and an Anti-Magic Formation. None of you will get away."
"Tch... Looks like I can't let you die just yet... Sharingan hypnosis! Remember this: five minutes from now, you'll kill yourself with this dagger. Understood?"
"Yes... sir..."
"Genjutsu—release!"

As the genjutsu was lifted, the Auror woke up. He stumbled back several steps in panic.
I looked at him and raised a finger to my lips, signaling for him to keep quiet.
"Shh... Quiet down. You've already found out, haven't you? Your traitor has told me everything..."
"You... Just kill me! I'm from the Ministry of Magic. I'll never beg for mercy! Come on!"
I looked at his contradictory expression—ready to die valiantly, yet full of resistance—and had no intention of making a move. After all, he had already told me what the consequences would be.

I cast two weakened control spells at him, then placed the dagger where he could reach it beneath his bewildered gaze.
