Father (First Update)

Si Jinyan draped his coat over the corner of the sofa, with a cushion beneath it—enough for the small egg to rest securely in the corner. He also left behind some pheromones.

Before Chi Li came out of the shower, Si Jinyan took the egg from his inner pocket again and inspected it.

Chi Li's pheromones still lingered on the egg, though faintly.

Eggy spun excitedly in Si Jinyan's palm until Si Jinyan pressed down on the tip of its head.

Si Jinyan furrowed his brow. Eggy immediately held its breath and stood obediently in his palm without moving.

Then a childish voice, deliberately lowered, spoke in Mermaid Language: "Good, good..."

Si Jinyan froze for a moment, then smiled. "That's right. Be good. You can't run around."

The egg swayed in Si Jinyan's palm as though acting cute and coquettish.

The sound of water in the bathroom stopped. Si Jinyan tucked the egg into his inner pocket, rubbed Eggy's head twice with his fingertips, then turned and headed into the bedroom.

Holding a towel, Chi Li dried his still-damp hair. Droplets from the ends fell onto the shoulder exposed by his slightly open pajama collar, glistening and delicate as they rolled along the lines of his skin and disappeared into his open lapels.

The air carried the faint floral scent of his bath, along with Chi Li's subdued pheromones.

Si Jinyan went straight over and wrapped an arm around Chi Li, his golden eyes narrowing and widening in waves.

Chi Li stepped back slightly to avoid him, his gaze calm. "Go take a shower first."

"Oh..." Si Jinyan answered dully, reluctantly withdrawing his hand from Chi Li's waist.

Before long, water sounds came from the bathroom, mixed with the occasional soft sound of a tail striking the floor.
