The egg repeated itself, with obvious caution. Carefully, but more clearly than before, it called out to Chi Li, "Father."

This stirred deeper memories within Chi Li. He stared at the egg, his dark eyes making his gaze seem even more shadowed and profound.

Eggy later learned that Chi Li had not truly wanted to play with it that day. Afterward, it had not even dared stop cooperating when Chi Li played toss with it. Only when it was utterly exhausted did it pass out.

From Si Jinyan's reaction afterward, it also realized that Chi Li still hated it.

In the living room, Chi Li only came back to himself when he noticed the egg trembling violently in his hand. Unconsciously, he had tightened his grip around it.

The egg shuddered, but obediently remained upright on the cushion.

The egg stared blankly and confusedly at Chi Li for a while. Chi Li said, "Your name."

Only after a moment did Eggy slowly say, "Eggy."

Chi Li fell silent. Si Jinyan's face surfaced in his mind, and he did not continue the subject.

Leaning against the sofa, with a silver-white egg standing beside him, he carefully recalled everything that had happened along the way. In the end, all his thoughts returned to the scene of Si Jinyan secretly slipping his hand into his pocket during the meeting.
