His upper body was two to three times the size of an adult man's, solid muscles covered in dark patterns that seemed to flow, while the scales beneath his skin were on the verge of emerging.

The camera slowly zoomed in. The instant those beast-like golden vertical pupils filled the frame, that face identical to Si Jinyan's seemed to look through the screen at Chi Li in the room, making his pupils constrict.

The shuddering sensation of being watched by a vicious supernatural creature seemed to pass through the screen. Without even realizing it himself, Chi Li's breathing quickened, and his fingertips began to tremble.

More than half the inhuman creature's skin inside the glass container was covered in scales. It even had fish-like fins and gills, yet its face was more exquisite and perfect than any human's.

Setting aside the fact that its very existence defied common sense, its proportions were so flawless that it looked like a masterpiece sculpted by God himself, combining terror, beauty, and power.

Then came the sound of something enormous slamming into the glass in the video—dull, deafening. The powerful intimidation sent the surrounding crowd into panic, and even the footage began to shake.

An inhuman language came from the monster's mouthparts, yet Chi Li could hear the creature's fury in those low, muffled, strange sounds, as well as... contempt and mockery.

As the monster flew into a rage, its human-like upper body began to take on a silver-black sheen, its long silver-black hair drifting through the water like endless tentacles.

Even though Chi Li had walked the line between life and death many times, he had never seen anything so scalp-numbing. His stomach even cramped.

Anyone who saw that scene would probably instinctively feel shock and fear. Only then would they realize that powerful creatures beyond their understanding had existed all along. They possessed human minds and unimaginable strength, surpassed humanity, lived among them, and had once been used as weapons of violence...

Chi Li copied that segment of footage and transferred it into the small chip beneath his skin. Then he copied Si Jinyan's physical examination reports from the past several years...

On the spaceship back, Si Jinyan gripped Chi Li's right wrist.

Si Jinyan softly asked, "Chi Li, what's wrong?"

Chi Li quickly came back to himself. After two breaths, he leaned against Si Jinyan's shoulder, hiding his expression as he said in a muffled voice, "Nothing."

Si Jinyan wrapped an arm around Chi Li's shoulders without saying more, then rubbed his head.

Chi Li was held and seated on Si Jinyan's lap.

Chi Li tried to relax. He thought of that inhuman fish tail—right beneath him. Si Jinyan could summon it at any time and wrap it around his throat.

Chi Li did not notice the beast-like golden vertical pupils flash through Si Jinyan's eyes.

On the way back, Chi Li finally adjusted his state of mind. He absolutely could not let anything slip because of this.

However, the next day in the office, Qiu Rui presented three items:

First, a destroyed syringe, along with an analysis report on the extract contained inside. The report showed that it was a top-tier falsifying agent.

Second, the forged database implanted in Si Jinyan's optical brain showed signs that browsing records had been erased, along with a corrected surveillance video.

Third, Chi Li's test report. The value of the sex-targeting genes left by Si Jinyan's permanent mark had dropped another 35%.

These pieces of physical evidence made Chi Li's actions and intentions unmistakably clear.

After receiving Si Jinyan's orders some time ago, Qiu Rui had been investigating in secret. Now, the evidence was finally conclusive.

Qiu Rui reported from the side, "Chi Li, alpha, from Loran, affiliated with the Intelligence Department of Loran's military. He spent eight years with a mercenary group, during which he maintained close ties with local forces..."

"Alpha." Si Jinyan repeated calmly, but the veins bulging on the hand resting on his knee revealed the emotions he had suppressed for so long.

Interrupted, Qiu Rui stopped and replied, "Yes. As an alpha, he is highly compatible with your pheromones, Marshal. However, he did not meet omega recruitment standards and could only disguise himself as an omega."

Qiu Rui's intelligence-gathering abilities were exceptional. He had even uncovered several espionage missions Chi Li had carried out in the past.

Chi Li was exceptionally skilled at disguise. He had never failed a spy mission and had successfully escaped every time.

Si Jinyan leafed through the files. When he finally raised his eyes, his pure black pupils had completely turned into golden vertical slits.
