Background and History

Kitten was discovered alone in bushes on the supposedly deserted island during the Wilderness Survival program. Covered in dust, it initially appeared gray, cried weakly for help, and immediately rubbed against Jiang Fang once found. Jiang Fang discovered that it was hungry and chose to take it in; Qin Yan supported the decision. 15

Although Kitten initially acted weak and unsteady, it soon proved capable of surviving independently. It tried to claim a rabbit Jiang Fang had hunted, dug for potatoes alongside him, and later caught a fish larger than its head after disappearing into the creek. 16 17

Its bond with Jiang Fang deepened during the island’s snake crisis. Kitten intercepted a snake attacking Jiang Fang, fought the lead snake, pursued the retreating swarm, and returned with an injured snake as a hunting gift. 22 23 Following the program, it remained with Jiang Fang through the police-station incident, government meeting, and his entry into Trainee. 36 40 45

Appearance

Kitten is a very small white long-haired lion cat whose fur initially looked gray because it was coated in dirt and dust. Once cleaned and dried, its fur was revealed to be white. 15 18

Personality

Kitten is intensely attached to Jiang Fang, whom it regards as its “Big Kitty.” It becomes distressed when separated from him, attempts to follow him everywhere, and reacts possessively toward people who draw too much of his attention. 17 19 40

It is brave, proud, and eager for praise. Kitten sees hunting as a way to provide for Jiang Fang, proudly presenting fish and snakes as gifts even when Jiang Fang is frightened or refuses the food. 17 23 24 It can also be remorseful: after scratching Jiang Fang’s chest, it recognized the injury, became visibly guilty, and licked the wound in apology. 17

During the snake-egg incident, Kitten becomes a decisive protector by stopping the lead snake from biting Jiang Fang. Its actions help establish Jiang Fang and Kitten as heroes of the crisis in the eyes of the livestream audience and director Jiang Nan. 22 24

Post-Island Life

After the island program, Kitten remains with Jiang Fang through legal disputes and government scrutiny. It causes significant damage while temporarily kept at a police station, then insists on accompanying Jiang Fang to the Ministry of Science and Technology rather than being left behind again. 36 40

Kitten secretly accompanies Jiang Fang to Trainee in a cream-colored crossbody bag. Its discovery during baggage inspection creates immediate attention, and its popularity helps reverse the production team’s initial objections. 45 46 47

At the competition venue, Kitten becomes an unofficial mascot. Jiang Fang ensures that his roommates are not allergic before bringing it into the dorm, and later entrusts it to Yan Wei during his first-stage evaluation. 47 48
