A look of understanding flashed through Thragg's eyes. He had known Sparta would ask that question.
Aside from his tendency to leap between topics, this guy's emotional intentions were always clear.
"He's still outside looking for you. You suddenly appeared inside the Viltrumite Empire, and I haven't told him yet that you've returned."
Sparta nodded lightly. Having gotten the answer he wanted, he didn't waste any more words on the matter.
"Then... what about the Great Expedition? Is the Anti-Viltrum Alliance still alive?"
At that, Thragg wore a meaningful smile and asked in return:
"With me personally taking the field, what do you think happened to the Anti-Vitrum Alliance? What waves could a mere bunch of vermin possibly make?"
Sparta suddenly laughed, the corners of his mouth curving upward, but he didn't respond.
Of course he knew Thragg's methods. Add in the billions of Viltrumite troops, and while they might not know how to deploy formations or devise strategies, dealing with an Anti-Viltrum Alliance would still be utterly overwhelming.
"Looks like I came back at just the right time."
Sparta's gaze passed through the reception room window and swept over the Imperial skyscrapers in the distance. They had gone unrepaired for years, yet still towered proudly.
"Since the spark is still burning, rebuilding won't be an empty promise."
Thragg leaned against the back of his chair. "Don't just make empty speeches. I'm not here to listen to you wax sentimental."
"You're still young, and your brain works better than mine too. Hurry up and think of a way to bring the Viltrumite Empire back on track."
Sparta withdrew his gaze from outside and let it fall on Thragg's face, which bore a seventy-percent resemblance to Zhou Shuren.
