Background

Clayton entered Recruit Company as an aggressive, confrontational recruit. He antagonized Sparta from their earliest days together and nearly came to blows with Luke after Luke objected to his bullying. Jayce intervened before the confrontation escalated, establishing an early pattern of restraining Clayton’s behavior 7.

During the conquest of Big Mouth Star, Clayton’s hostility toward Sparta erupted into open combat. Sparta decisively defeated him, sending him through mountains and leaving him severely injured. Clayton nevertheless refused to accept the disparity between them, turning his defeat into a long-running obsession with surpassing Sparta 9 10.
