Mortal Realm Trial

Jiang Lu entered the Great Qian Dynasty’s Mortal Realm to investigate demonic cultivators and the collapse of the realm’s fortune 97. The Mortal Realm’s Heavenly Dao asked her to eliminate invading evil entities, reduce the chaos of the troubled age, and mend the realm’s gaps in exchange for Merit Power and a Heavenly Dao Blessing 103.

She repeatedly destroyed demonic cultivators, dismantled evil formations, and aided mortals endangered by war and flooding 99 107 119. After exhausting herself while helping establish the World-Saving Grand Formation, Jiang Lu awakened in the body of a white kitten and lived among mortals as White Snow 120 123.

At Gong Chenyue’s coronation, Jiang Lu’s spiritual form manifested above the imperial palace and publicly blessed the new Empress, whose rule ended the civil war and restored the dynasty’s stability 125.

Heaven’s Chosen Ranking

After returning to the Medicine King Pavilion, Jiang Lu trained relentlessly across the “hundred arts” of cultivation, using sword practice as rest between studies 128. Ye Qingluan selected her as the pavilion’s concealed representative for the Heaven’s Chosen Ranking and instructed her to hide her Chaos Spirit Root, gu arts, formations, talismans, and other trump cards 130.

On her way to seek Dream Butterfly Flowers, Jiang Lu was ambushed by demonic cultivators who recognized her and coveted her Chaos Body. Afterward, she discovered records of the demonic lineage’s corruption and burned its cave, dossier, and cultivation methods. While traveling in disguise, Jiang Lu rescued Zixin and Aunt Wang from a Purple Chasing Rat without killing the beast. Suspecting that Zixin’s elder sister’s sudden devotion to a mysterious man involved gu poison, she agreed to investigate 206 207. She healed the Chen Family ancestor to repay Auntie’s earlier help, rewarded helpful tree spirits, and chose to aid civilians after defeating demonic cultivators 51 99 119. Her time in the Mortal Realm taught her that compassion does not mean personally carrying every suffering in the world 125.
