Matt's Troubles

Led by Matt, the four of them crossed the newly refurbished reception area and headed for the office where files were stored and cases were handled.

When Matt opened the door, they found someone bent over a desk piled high with case files and books. At the sound, the man looked up.

His neatly combed black hair was cut short, and his round face and soft features gave him a naturally approachable look. His brown eyes stood out most of all: sincere and friendly. The corners of his mouth seemed permanently turned up in a gentle smile that made him instantly likable.

"Foggy." Matt turned his head, facing his partner behind the desk with perfect accuracy. "This is Foggy Nelson, my old college classmate, my partner at the firm, and my best friend."

Then he turned toward Foggy. "And these are the founders of Starsea Studio I keep telling you about. They're our friends, too: Lin Hai, Gwen, Peter, and Harry."

"Hey! Great to meet you!" Foggy sprang from his chair, his smile widening. He came around the desk and shook each of their hands. "Matt talks about you all the time. He says you're incredible young people! I finally get to meet you in person. Welcome!"

Foggy looked about Matt's age. His dark blue suit was reasonably well pressed and, though hardly expensive, clean and well cared for. He was of average height, with a build that was neither slight nor bulky.

His warmth and sincerity were infectious, putting everyone at ease almost at once.

Matt had already given them a tour of the firm's improvements. After that, Foggy took the lead in chatting with the four of them.
