Contacting Kingpin

After completely dismantling The Hand's stronghold in Hell's Kitchen, Lin Hai and the others naturally shifted their focus back to their identities as students.

This unusually fulfilling summer vacation was drawing to a close, and a brand-new sophomore year at the California Institute of Technology was about to begin.

Compared to a year ago, when they had been filled with dreams of a top university and excitement and curiosity about unknown college life, the four of them were now much more at peace.

Their freshman year had brought them not only an accumulation of knowledge, but also all-around growth in perspective, ability, and character.

Gwen carefully checked and organized her class schedule and textbook list for the new semester. Peter lamented why happy times were always so short while honestly beginning to study specialized courses whose names alone made his head hurt. Harry gathered cutting-edge papers and research materials they might need. Lin Hai had it relatively easy, spending more time adjusting his state of mind and preparing things that he and Gwen might need for the new semester.

During this break in their preparations for the new semester, Lin Hai also took the time to contact Kingpin.

He briefly told Kingpin about their conflict with The Hand and how the five of them had destroyed its Hell's Kitchen stronghold together.

More importantly, he revealed his intention to completely wipe out The Hand in the future.

Kingpin had actually known about and dealt with The Hand for a long time, and he had never thought much of its habit of ignoring the rules of the underworld, especially its tendency to throw its weight around simply because it was powerful.
