An Easy Day

After a hearty hot pot feast, all four of them were a little too full and needed to lean back in their chairs to recover.

At the same time, they all felt a sense of relief from finally escaping the tense pressure of final exams.

That feeling of relaxation broke their usual routines. Even Lin Hai, who was always disciplined, rarely allowed himself to sleep in soundly that night.

By the time Lin Hai naturally woke from his deep, comfortable sleep, the bright Los Angeles sunshine had already streamed through his bedroom window, casting warm beams of light diagonally across his quilt and outlining its pale surface with a dazzling golden glow.

Lin Hai first picked up his phone to check the time, then got out of bed and went to the bathroom for a quick wash. The cold water splashed across his face and chased away the last traces of drowsiness.

When he hung up his towel and came out of the bathroom, Gwen happened to open her door from inside.

Gwen wore cotton pajamas printed with adorable cartoon designs. She rubbed her sleepy eyes, her smooth blonde hair hanging slightly messily over her shoulders, and her entire being gave off a lazy yet cute air.

When she saw Lin Hai standing in the hallway, she gave him a sleepy smile and greeted him in a soft voice, "Morning, Lin Hai~"

Seeing his girlfriend's dazed, just-awakened appearance, Lin Hai returned her smile warmly. "Morning, Gwen. I'm about to go downstairs and make breakfast. Come down once you're ready."

"Mm, okay~" Gwen nodded obediently, rubbed her eyes again, and turned toward the bathroom.
