Tony, "shocked by the bad news," crouched down and tapped Rhodey's motionless faceplate with Mark VI's metal fingers. The metal-on-metal contact produced a crisp clang.
"Rhodey, wake up. I need you."
Although Mark VI vastly outperformed the Iron Soldiers Ivan Vanko had made, Tony could easily lead them in circles through the sky without worrying about being caught.
But if dozens of Iron Soldiers surrounded him, he really would not be able to handle them alone. They might be clumsy, but there were simply too many of them. Once encircled, he would inevitably lose sight of one threat while dealing with another.
Just then, Lin Hai's voice sounded in his ear.
"Tony, Peter and Harry are heading your way," Lin Hai said over the channel. "The rest of us still need to search the venue for any Iron Soldiers that are still active. We'll be there soon."
Upon hearing the news, Tony opened his faceplate and let out a long breath. "Whew~ That's great news."
As soon as he finished speaking, Rhodey's faceplate automatically opened, revealing an obviously exhausted face. After Tony pulled him up, he had barely apologized to his friend, saying that he should have trusted Tony, when the Iron Soldiers began dropping from the sky.
One after another, dozens of Iron Soldiers landed around Tony and Rhodey. They slammed into the ground with heavy impacts, kicking up clouds of dust and sprays of water.
Tony and Rhodey exchanged a glance, then lowered their faceplates at the same time. The battle erupted instantly.
Tony raised both hands, and the Arc Pulse Cannons in his palms fired continuously. Pale yellow energy beams shot out one after another, striking the Iron Soldiers attempting to approach.
Rhodey stood back-to-back with him, the machine guns on his right shoulder and both arms
