Jane's gaze moved back and forth between Lin Hai and Gwen several times. "Who exactly are you?"
Lin Hai thought for a moment and gave an answer that was not exactly a lie. "You could say we're partners of S.H.I.E.L.D. We know their leadership and occasionally help them deal with some rather unusual matters."
"Like that hammer to the west."
Hearing Lin Hai mention the hammer to the west, Jane remembered something. "A hammer? You mean that thing that fell from the sky? While I was eating earlier, I heard other diners say that some satellite no one could move had fallen from the sky in the western desert. A friend I met yesterday also said it was actually a hammer."
Lin Hai nodded, confirming Jane's account.
Jane's eyes lit up. The anger and helplessness S.H.I.E.L.D. had caused her were temporarily pushed aside as her scientific instincts drove her to press for details.
"What does it look like? How big is it? Are there any special markings on the surface? Did those S.H.I.E.L.D. people find out anything?"
Lin Hai patiently answered each question. Peter and Harry occasionally added a word or two from the side. Jane nodded as she listened, her expression intensely focused.
Meanwhile, Gwen and Daisy began chatting as well.
Daisy was a talkative girl, one of her most notable traits. Gwen had only asked, "Are you Foster's colleague?" and she had already opened the floodgates.
"I'm Jane's intern. I came here with her to do research. I thought it would just be a normal field study, but then this happened."
Gwen listened patiently.
Daisy kept talking. Gwen did not interrupt her, only softly asking when Daisy was nearly finished, "By the way, can you make a list of the things S.H.I.E.L.D. took? We'll help you get them
