After Eric was carried back to his room, Jane and Thor each returned to their own beds.
Jane slipped under the covers, listened to the occasional wind outside the window, and soon drifted off into her second sleep of the night.
Thor lay on the makeshift bed downstairs, resting his head on a pillow made from folded old clothes. He stared at the ceiling. After drinking with Eric, he truly felt much better than before.
He closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the windows, brightly illuminating the first floor of the workshop. Thor, now wearing a dark blue plaid shirt, was frying steaks and eggs with Jane.
Eric sat at the table, one hand supporting his forehead and the other holding a cup of black coffee. He looked listless; clearly, his hangover had not entirely passed.
Daisy had a slice of pizza she had just bought outside hanging from her mouth as she mumbled something indistinctly.
Knock, knock, knock. Someone knocked on the glass door.
Daisy, who was closest to the door, still had the pizza in her mouth as she hurried over and pulled it open. Lin Hai and the other three stood outside. Daisy mumbled, "You're here. Good morning," then stepped aside to let them in.
"Good morning." Lin Hai nodded to everyone inside.
Gwen followed behind him, with Peter and Harry bringing up the rear. The three of them greeted Daisy at the door and Thor's group inside one by one.
Seeing that Lin Hai had arrived, Thor, who had waited all night, immediately put down his knife and fork. "Mage, you seem to know something... especially about why I can't lift Mjolnir. Can you tell me?"
Lin Hai smiled faintly. "Peter, tell Thor your analysis from yesterday afternoon, except
