After telling Lin Hai that Yinsen had begun studying magic, the Ancient One handed him around thirty standard-sized metal ingots. "This is what remains after Master Hamil set aside a portion for himself and Kamar-Taj. They're yours to do with as you please."
Lin Hai had no objection to Hamil keeping some of the Uru Metal. That had been part of their agreement from the start.
Besides being free to study the Runes on the Destroyer Armor, Hamil was to receive some of the Uru Metal that made up the armor as payment for crafting protective gear.
Truthfully, if Lin Hai hadn't thought he might need some Uru Metal in the future, he would have left all the rest with Hamil and Kamar-Taj.
It was precious, but with current technology, only Hamil could use advanced magic to forge it. In his hands and at Kamar-Taj, the Uru Metal would be far more valuable.
Lin Hai put the ingots away and thanked the Ancient One again. With nothing else to discuss, he and Gwen said goodbye and left her courtyard.
From there, they headed to another part of Kamar-Taj, where Yinsen lived.
Lin Hai knocked on the door. Footsteps soon sounded inside, and the wooden door opened. Yinsen froze when he saw Lin Hai and Gwen, then broke into a smile.
"Mr. Lin! Come in!"
Lin Hai and Gwen entered Yinsen's room and looked around. It had changed considerably since they had brought him here.
A bookshelf stood in the corner, neatly filled with texts borrowed from the library. A few even had homemade bookmarks tucked between their pages.
On the desk, beside the computer Lin Hai had bought him, lay an open notebook packed with notes on basic Magical Theory.
