Peter Learns Acting

Ever since his friends had "set him straight," Peter had worked up the courage to stop Mary Jane one afternoon after school, just as she was heading to drama club rehearsal.

"MJ! Um... I... I have something I'd like to ask you to help me with!" Peter's face was a little red, and he stammered as he spoke.

Mary Jane stopped. Her beautiful long red hair was especially dazzling in the sunlight.

Seeing how nervous Peter looked, she found it amusing and a little curious. "What is it, Peter? Another one of your unique questions?"

"No, no, no." Peter hurriedly waved his hands, then took a deep breath as though he were about to undertake some major mission. "It's... it's about acting! I heard you know a lot about stage acting... I want to... I want to learn a little! Improve my... uh... ability to express myself!"

He tried his best to make his reason sound more reasonable.

Mary Jane froze for a moment, then laughed. Her smile was bright and sincere. "Wow! That's unexpected! Of course, Peter! I'd be happy to help!"

The fact that Peter had actually taken the initiative to learn acting struck her as extremely interesting. "But talking without practice won't do. Our drama club happens to be putting on a short play for the school anniversary, and we need a few extras and backstage hands. Want to come help out directly? Practice makes perfect!"

And so Peter Parker, Midtown High School's scientific genius and New York's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, became a short-term "honorary member" of the school drama club, more or less against his will.

The days that followed opened the door to a whole new world for Peter, while also bringing all kinds of hilarious "accidents."
