"Cunning rabbits have three burrows?" 2B watched Kingpin flee rapidly, her expression remaining calm without the slightest hint of worry.
Since she had already laid eyes on Kingpin, she was absolutely confident she could catch him. In her view, he was merely making his final desperate struggle.
Although Kingpin was known as the emperor of the underworld, which sounded impressive, in her eyes, he was not much different from an ordinary person.
If she had to put it into perspective, ordinary people were like ants to her, while Kingpin was at most a slightly stronger ant. No matter how much he struggled, he could never escape her grasp.
Seeing Kingpin fleeing toward the rooftop, 2B revealed a smile that said everything was under control. She did not chase after him along his escape route.
Instead, she leaped out through the office's floor-to-ceiling window and actually climbed the side of the building toward the rooftop with her bare hands.
In just a short while, she arrived on the rooftop. At that moment, Kingpin had just opened the rooftop door and was preparing to leave in the helicopter parked there.
When he saw that 2B had reached the rooftop ahead of him, his face filled with mixed emotions. Shock and fury blended together until his eyes turned slightly red.
Seeing that he could not shake 2B, Kingpin stopped wasting time and energy and simply stared at her coldly.
"Looks like you're determined to catch me today?" As Kingpin spoke, he took off his white suit. He had decided to stop running and face 2B with everything he had.
His body was simply too bulky, and the white suit would hinder his movements in a real fight. So before every battle, he would take off his suit. It had become his signature move.
2B shook her head. "No, you're mistaken. I'm not here to catch you. I'm here to kill you.
Of course, before that, I'll pry open your mouth and make you tell me everything you know."
"Woman, you have quite the mouth on you. It's been a long time since I met someone like you. Since that's the case, let me have some fun with you today."
As soon as he finished speaking, Kingpin slowly raised the cane in his hand and assumed a fighting stance.
However, at that very instant, a red laser shot from the tip of the cane, attacking 2B without warning.
Yet faced with Kingpin's sudden ambush, 2B merely shifted one step sideways and easily avoided it.
Seeing 2B evade his sneak attack so effortlessly, Kingpin did not get angry. Instead, he pressed another button on his cane.
A large amount of white smoke immediately poured out from the cane.
No one knew what the smoke was made of, but it was surprisingly difficult to disperse.
Within moments, it engulfed the entire rooftop.
If an ordinary person stood within this smoke, they probably would not be able to see a thing.
That was precisely Kingpin's goal. Though his combat ability was not weak, he clearly knew that under normal circumstances, he had absolutely no chance of defeating 2B.
Therefore, he had to create favorable conditions for himself. Only then would he stand a chance.
The instant the white smoke covered the rooftop, he finally made his move in earnest.
He pressed a spot near the end of his cane, and it immediately transformed into a sharp longsword.
Gripping the longsword, he wasted no words. He rushed at 2B in a single stride, then thrust the sword toward her neck with unstoppable force.
In his eyes, 2B's vision was completely blocked by the white smoke. She could not possibly see his movements, so there was no way she could block his attack, much less evade it.
But for all his calculations, he had failed to account for the fact that 2B was not actually human. She was a robot. Besides a visual system like that of a human, she also possessed infrared thermal imaging.
Thus, the so-called white smoke had no effect whatsoever on her movements. The reason she had delayed taking action was, first, because she could not kill Kingpin just yet, and second, because she simply wanted to watch his performance.
Now that the performance was over, it was time to act.
With that thought, she extended two fingers and swiftly pinched them together, directly catching the tip of Kingpin's sword and stopping it cold.
This sudden turn of events instantly stunned Kingpin.
He had made so many preparations solely for that one attack. He had thought he would succeed,
but he never expected the woman before him to neutralize it so easily.
He simply could not understand it. His white smoke had clearly blocked her vision!
How had she done it?
Question after question surfaced in his mind, leaving him incomparably agitated and furious. This feeling of being utterly controlled by his opponent without knowing why was far more unbearable than being defeated outright.
Seeing 2B gripping his cane, he did not hesitate in the slightest and immediately pressed a button near its end.
A laser emitter was installed at the end of his cane. Once he pressed the button, it would fire a laser.
This move had always worked without fail in the past and rarely missed.
But at that moment, 2B exerted force first. With a sharp ding, she easily snapped off the sword tip.
The laser he had pinned his hopes on was consequently redirected, striking the helicopter beside them.
Its immense penetrating power and heat instantly left a finger-sized hole in the helicopter's cabin door.
That showed just how powerful the laser was!
If it had hit 2B just now, it would certainly have inflicted considerable damage on her as well.
"It's over!"
After effortlessly neutralizing Kingpin's series of attacks, 2B quietly looked at him and spoke, her tone full of disdain.
Kingpin's face turned utterly livid. As the underworld emperor of New York and even the entire United States, when had he ever suffered such humiliation? His eyes immediately reddened.
At that moment, he abandoned his cane.
Then he directly grabbed one of 2B's arms with both hands, intending to use the judo technique he was most skilled in and throw her over his shoulder.
But before he could execute the shoulder throw, he sensed something unusual.
The instant his hands touched 2B, he felt a bone-piercing chill.
And that chill was not something a normal human should possess. It felt more like the temperature of steel.
In an instant, he seemed to understand something. He stared at 2B with disbelief filling his eyes.
"You... you're not human!"
