A Special Symbol, Hydra!

Watching 2B's actions, the sniper revealed a disdainful smile. In his eyes, what 2B was doing was no different from a mantis trying to stop a chariot; it would change nothing.

A body of flesh and blood could never withstand bullets fired at such close range. In his view, even if 2B blocked the muzzle with her palm, she was doomed to die.

Yet, to his utter surprise, the instant he pulled the trigger, a metallic clang rang out. Then, to his horror, he saw that she had actually stopped his bullet with her palm.

"You seem surprised?" After easily blocking the sniper's bullet, 2B exerted more force. The immense strength instantly crushed the sniper's pistol into a lump of metal.

The sniper's face filled with terror. He hurriedly retreated, looking at 2B as though he had seen a ghost.

Because in that instant, he realized the woman before him had not escaped injury. There was a huge wound in the center of her palm, but through it, he saw metallic bones gleaming coldly.

In other words, the woman before him was not human at all. She was a robot!

The discovery shattered his worldview. Although Iron Man had appeared recently, that was merely the human Tony Stark wearing a high-tech suit of armor.

High-tech armor had long existed in this world. Scorpion and Prowler under Kingpin each had their own high-tech armor as well. It was nothing new.

But robots—especially robots as lifelike as the woman before him—were unheard of. Such technology had completely surpassed what this era should have been capable of.

At the very least, he had never heard of any force capable of creating such a realistic robot. More importantly, this robot's combat power was so absurdly powerful. It was simply unbelievable!

As far as he knew, the woman before him was Loren Morgan's personal secretary. That meant Loren Morgan, whom they had never taken seriously, might have already mastered technology far beyond this era.

Though he did not know how Loren had done it, if his guess was correct, then this discovery was extraordinarily significant. It might even affect every plan their organization had previously laid out.

Once he understood this, he immediately realized the importance of the matter. Without another thought, he gave up on fighting 2B and turned to jump directly out the window.

He was more than thirty floors up. Falling from such a height meant certain death.

But the instant he leaped out the window, he immediately pulled out a special tool shaped like a pistol.

However, it did not fire bullets, but a hook wrapped in special thread.

As he pulled the trigger, the hook shot out and embedded itself firmly in the wall of the building across from him. Then, like Spider-Man, he swung away through the air.

Seeing this, 2B wore an amused smile.

She did not immediately chase after him. Instead, she controlled the Anti-Gravity Drone floating beside her and fired a red laser beam at the man.

The laser arrived in an instant and effortlessly burned through the thread.

"What the fuck, no!!"

The man screamed as he traced an arc through the air and slammed heavily into the wall of the building opposite him. It was a truly miserable sight.

Fortunately, by the time he swung out, he was not far above the ground, so he did not die on impact. Even so, he had been injured too badly to get back up anytime soon.

At that moment, 2B grabbed the drone and descended from the rooftop at an unhurried pace.

Before long, she landed steadily in front of the man.

The man was in a miserable state, and his expression was extremely twisted.

One of the bones in his leg had clearly broken when he hit the ground, which was why he could not stand.

But 2B did not care about that, nor did she feel the slightest pity.

Not only did she feel no pity, she stepped forward and viciously kicked him.

The terrifying force sent the man flying. He rolled more than ten meters across the ground before finally stopping.

"Escape?" 2B looked expressionlessly at the man lying on the ground and gasping for breath, her tone icy.

Holding her katana, she drove it directly into the man's shoulder.

The intense pain immediately twisted the man's expression even further.

But what surprised 2B was that although his face was contorted, he endured it without letting out a single scream. Such willpower was truly admirable.

"I ask, you answer. Answer correctly, and I'll give you a quick death. Answer wrong, and you'll wish you were dead! Tell me, who ordered you to do this?"

Hearing 2B's words, the man revealed a disdainful expression. Enduring the pain, he said, "Don't waste your time. I'll never tell you, and I don't need you to give me a quick death either!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the man suddenly bit down hard.

Blood immediately began pouring from his seven orifices. Clearly, he had long hidden a poison capsule in his mouth to deal with being captured.

Seeing this, 2B did not waste any words. She immediately stepped forward, pried open his mouth, and tried to dig out the poison.

But it was already too late. The poison had taken effect, and he was dead.

2B had not expected him to be so resolute. Previously, she had heard from her creator that humans were extremely complex creatures.

Some were selfish and self-serving, while others were generous and righteous. Some were cruel and vicious, while others were kind-hearted. Some feared death, while others were brave and fearless.

If one were to rank the most complex creatures in the world, humans would undoubtedly be at the top.

The reason for such complexity and diversity was that humans possessed a rich emotional system unlike that of other creatures, as well as something called a soul.

Before this, she had no real concept of it. But witnessing the man's resolute death caused a subtle change in her intelligent core.

That change was like a seed slowly taking root and sprouting in her mechanical brain. As for what it might grow into in the future, no one knew.

Seeing that the man before her was dead as well, 2B looked slightly annoyed.

This meant her mission had completely failed, because she still had not discovered who the mastermind was!

But just as she prepared to leave, she suddenly noticed a special symbol on the man's wrist.

The symbol consisted of a skull and six objects resembling octopus tentacles.

Looking at the strange symbol, 2B frowned slightly, because she had seen this pattern after connecting to the internet.

"Hydra?"
