A Quinjet of Black Noir cut through the night sky.
It's stuffy in the cabin.
Tony·Stark sat in the corner, folding his arms, his face uglier than the stock he just bought. The blue light from the reactor on his chest was steady, but his mood was not at all.
"JARVIS." He called in his head.
"Yes, sir."
"Let's analyze the power outage just now again."
"Sir, the energy system, including all physically isolated backup lines, were simultaneously cut off within the same Planck time. There are no traces of intrusion, no energy source, and no physical contact. The conclusion is... inexplicable."
"Unexplainable." Tony recited these four words silently, feeling his teeth itching.
He is a scientist who believes that everything can be measured and explained. And the man named Anthony·Chen is a walking "unexplainable".
Is it some kind of high-frequency electromagnetic pulse? Or more outrageous space technology?
He couldn't figure it out. This gave him a bigger headache than solving the palladium poisoning.
Coulson sat opposite him, rubbing his hands, looking excited to meet his idol.
"Mr. Stark, it's such an honor to meet you. I have collected a complete set of your father's invention briefings, as well as all the press clippings when you first disclosed your identity."
Tony glanced at him and said nothing.
Coulson didn't care and continued, "We all have high hopes for you. So does the captain. Oh, by the way, I also have a set of Captain America's first edition collection cards. They are in good condition and all they need is his signature."
"Really?" Tony's tone was thorny, "Then you should go find him instead of bothering me. Maybe he can sign it for you on your little shield."
Coulson's smile froze.
Chu Hang was leaning against the bulkhead, eyes closed, as if asleep.
He suddenly said, "Coulson, ignore him. He was frightened by me just now, and now he is losing his temper."
Tony's face darkened. "I didn't lose my temper!"
"You have." Chu Hang didn't even open his eyes. "You have questions in your mind right now. You want to know the principle of my ability and why your JARVIS can't analyze it. Right?"
Tony choked.
"This is unscientific." He held it in for a long time before saying this.
"When can you explain Asgard's Bifrost, come talk to me about science again." After Chu Hang finished speaking, he ignored him.
The fighter plane passed through the clouds, and a huge aircraft carrier appeared below.
"That's it?" Tony looked out the porthole and curled his lips, "I thought S.H.I.E.L.D. could have something good, but it turned out to be a bigger ship."
Coulson smiled mysteriously, "Wait and see."
Quinjet landed smoothly on the deck.
Tony As soon as he stepped out of the cabin, he felt a low hum coming from the deck beneath his feet. The entire aircraft carrier began to shake slightly. He saw four huge turbine fans slowly rising from both sides of the hull. The fan blades rotated, bringing up strong winds and shattering the mist on the sea surface.
The salty sea breeze turned into scorching air currents.
This ship took off.
It slowly rose into the sky, like an awakened steel behemoth, and submerged into the clouds.
Tony raised his head, and the ridicule on his face turned into unconcealable surprise.
"Okay," he whispered to Pepper on the communicator, "It seems that their toys are not all garbage."
India, Kolkata.
The slums on the edge of the city are dirty and crowded. The air smells of sweat, curry and inferior spices.
Natasha·Romanoff Wearing inconspicuous clothes, like a drop of water blending into the sea, walking through the chaotic streets. A little girl with pigtails led the way, skillfully avoiding the sewage on the ground and the beggars with outstretched hands.
They walked into a dilapidated house.
In the room, a man wearing glasses was wiping the forehead of a patient with fever. His movements were gentle and focused.
He is Bruce·Doctor Banner.
He had known someone was coming.
"You should have sent someone to clear the place in advance." Banner said without raising his head, his voice was very gentle.
Natasha glanced out the window. She knew that at least three sniper points were in place on the roof across the street.
"We just want to talk to you," she said.
"The person I talked to last time almost tore Harlem apart." Banner covered the patient with a blanket, stood up, and looked at her. His eyes were calm, but underneath the calmness, there was a Beast that could break free from the cage at any time.
"I know you don't want to cause trouble, doctor." Natasha said, "So do we. We have a big problem and need the help of one of the top experts in the field of gamma rays."
She handed over a tablet with the information of Cosmic Cube on it.
"The energy radiation of this thing is very similar to your research."
Banner only glanced at it and pushed it away.
"S.H.I.E.L.D. What do you want from me?" He asked directly, "You want me to become a weapon?"
"We want your help to find it. That's all." Natasha said, "Nick Director Fury sent me here because I believe you can help."
"What if I say no?"
"We will take enforcement measures." Natasha's answer was equally direct.
Banner smiled helplessly. He walked to the window and looked at the noisy street outside.
"It took me a long time to find a place like this. Here, I can help people and control the big guy. I don't want to become that monster again."
"We all know that you can't control it forever, doctor." Natasha's voice was soft but powerful, "This time, we need that monster."
Banner was silent for a long time.
The little girl who was leading the way ran over and tugged at the corner of his clothes. He touched her head with a hint of tenderness on her face.
Finally, he turned around.
"Okay," he said, "But if I lose control... you have to be ready."
Helicarrier, bridge.
This place is like a huge Hive, with agents busy at their respective posts and the data on the screen constantly refreshing.
Steve·Rogers was wearing a new uniform, standing upright, looking at all this, with a trace of alienation in his eyes that was incompatible with the surroundings.
Chu Hang and Tony walked in.
"Well done, one-eyed dragon." Tony looked around and whistled, "How much did it cost the taxpayers?"
Fury ignored him and pointed to the holographic projection table in the center.
"Everyone." His voice spread through the radio throughout the bridge, "I think you all know why you are here. A rebel god of Asgard, Loki, stole Cosmic Cube, an object with unfathomable energy. He killed our agents and took control of our people."
A surveillance image of Loki making everyone kneel down at Germany's dinner party appeared on the screen.
"He wants to rule the earth. The scepter in his hand can control people's minds. We don't know what he will do with Cosmic Cube, but it is definitely not a good thing. There is an alien army behind him."
"Avengers Initiative was born to deal with this kind of threat." Fury looked at everyone present, "Each of you has power that ordinary people cannot match. Now, the world needs you to bring these powers together."
"Our mission is, first, to find Loki. Second, to recapture Cosmic Cube."
After the briefing, everyone dispersed.
Chu Hang walked to Fury, and the two came to a secluded corner.
"Phase Two." Chu Hang gets right to the point.
Fury's one eye narrowed. "I don't understand what you are talking about."
"Stop pretending, Nick." Chu Hang looked at him, "You don't just want to retrieve Tesseract. You are studying it, copying its energy and making weapons. This is the 'Phase Two' plan, right?"
Fury was silent.
"The appearance of Thor made you realize how fragile the earth is in the universe. So you want to build stronger weapons to protect the earth." Chu Hang said, "You brought Doctor Banner here not only because he understands gamma rays, but also because you want to study Hulk and study that kind of runaway energy."
Fury's fists were clenched. Chu Hang said every word correctly.
"The world is becoming more and more dangerous, and we must have our own deterrence." Fury whispered.
"Deterrence or provocation?" Chu Hang asked, "With the nuclear bomb button in your hand, you always want to find a place to press it. Be careful, Nick, don't play with fire and burn yourself."
After saying that, Chu Hang turned and left, leaving Fury standing alone in the shadows.
At this time, Doctor Banner, led by Coulson, walked into the bridge. He was wearing an ill-fitting suit and looked very reserved, like a university professor who accidentally entered a party.
Steve walked forward politely and stretched out his hand. "Doctor, nice to see you."
Banner shook hands with him and seemed a little overwhelmed.
Tony seemed to have discovered a new toy. His eyes lit up and he walked over.
"Bruce·Doctor Banner!" He patted Banner on the shoulder enthusiastically, "I am your super fan! Your paper on anti-electron collision is simply a work of genius! How did you come up with the idea of using Dirac model to explain gamma ray pulses? God, you are an artist!"
Banner was confused by his enthusiasm. "Uh... thank you."
"You're welcome." Tony walked around him as if appreciating a work of art, "So, Fury invited a busy guy like you here? He told me that you are a gamma ray expert. Seriously, how do you manage not to explode at any time? I'm curious about your body's energy conversion rate."
"Tony!" Steve frowned, thinking he was too rude.
"Relax, Captain. This is a communication between scientists." Tony didn't care and winked at Banner, "We are all cursed people, aren't we? This thing on my chest is the big guy in your body. It's just that mine is more handsome."
Banner looked at him and smiled for the first time. He did not expect that this legendary arrogant billionaire would greet him in this way. He did not regard him as a monster, but as a scientific phenomenon worthy of study.
It made him feel... a little lighter.
"Chen, it's nice to see you again." Banner saw Chu Hang beside him and said, "Speaking of which, I owe you a favor. Thanks to you, the military people finally stopped bothering me during this time."
Chu Hang smiled slightly, "You're welcome, doctor, I can't stand the military's behavior."
"Follow me, doctor." Tony put his arm around his shoulders and led him to an instrument. "Look at this energy signal, left by Cosmic Cube. I think its radiation model is very unstable, what do you think?"
Banner looked at the data on the screen and was immediately attracted.
"This is indeed... it is releasing neutron radiation, but it is not a standard decay..."
The two genius scientists just started discussing like no one else.
Steve looked at them and shook his head, completely confused. He felt that there was another invisible wall between himself and this era.
