  • Hawkeye, Steve, Natasha, Thor, and Tony fought the Chitauri across New York as the invading forces continued pouring through the wormhole.
  • Chu Hang ordered Thor to return to Stark Tower, free Loki from the Cosmic Cube, and make him reveal where he had hidden the Cube.
  • Chu Hang remembered that destroying the Chitauri mothership could disable their entire army and told the Avengers he would cross the wormhole to attack it.
  • Chu Hang shut off the comms, gathered golden energy around himself, and fixed his gaze on the wormhole.

Ch. 110Battle of New York (End)

Chu Hang destroyed the Chitauri mothership, severing the command network and ending the battle in New York, but the wormhole began closing before he could return. As Tony flew into the shrinking portal to reach him, Chu Hang raced for the exit and fell just short.

  • Chu Hang realized he was stranded far from Earth and began searching for a spatial fold to use as a shortcut.
  • Tony Stark argued with Steve Rogers over Chu Hang’s sacrifice and the Avengers’ decision to close the wormhole, then flew away as the World Security Council took control of the battlefield.
  • Thor returned to Asgard with Loki and the Cosmic Cube, told Odin how Chu Hang had destroyed the mothership, and asked for help finding him.

  • Chu Hang asked Quill to come with him to Earth to visit an elder, and Quill agreed after the group dealt with the stone.

Ch. 116Ronan's Death

Chu Hang proved that the Nova Corps could not protect the Power Stone by defeating Ronan’s renewed assault on Xandar, then agreed to leave the Stone there for three years in exchange for access to its archives. After the Milano departed, a living planet appeared and addressed Peter Quill as its child.

  • Chu Hang persuaded Quill to meet Ego, while warning Gamora and Rocket that Ego was dangerous and seeking to devour life.
  • Ego told Quill how he had met Quill’s mother and hired Yondu to bring Quill to him, and then taught Quill to use his Celestial Power.
  • During the crew’s two-day stay, Chu Hang used the system to copy Ego’s true form, triggering an irreversible transformation toward Skyfather-level existence.
  • Ego sensed his own kind of aura in Chu Hang, who formed a miniature living planet from golden energy and suggested that he might be like Ego.

Ch. 118The Battle of the Celestials

Chu Hang exposed Ego’s plan to consume life-bearing worlds, then destroyed Ego’s core and absorbed its fragments. He left the Milano stronger and invited Quill to come with him as he prepared to return home.

  • Chu Hang told Quill, Gamora, and Rocket that Ego planned to consume the universe’s life and that Quill was only a battery, but Quill rejected his warning.
  • Chu Hang led Gamora, Rocket, Drax, and Groot to Ego’s underground core, where they found countless bones and learned that Ego had killed his failed offspring.
